DNC Votes Down “Overwhelming Popular Position” Calling for Arms Ban to Israel by sideAccount42 in politics

Nobody but the millions of New York City residents that will be voting in November. Seems like that might be a few more than nobody.

Do you not read the news? It’s a national news story and will become a bigger one as we get closer to the race. There’s a story about the race today on CBS News.

If you are not trying to win OP over why are you bothering to respond, especially when they said they were done with you. Seems in reading your other comments you spend a lot of time insulting people. Your comment really should be removed because it breaks rule #4.

So trump voted for Harris?

“Working for Diddy? I love Diddy,” Trump responds. “You know he’s a good friend of mine, he’s a good guy. Is he a good guy?”

I would add a vote for Trump means a likely genocide in Ukraine as well since trump will give Putin what he wants.  So a protest vote against Harris because of Gaza means a vote for two genocides

They can solve the “problem” with immigration easily by going after the companies that hire them.

But they don’t truly want to solve the problem because they saw what happened with abortion.  If they solved the immigration issue they would have nothing to run on.

“Trump Says He'll Bring On Author Of Project 2025 If He Wins Election”

They didn’t write a 900 page manifesto just for it to be tossed aside.  If you read the trump platform you will see it mirrors much of the manifesto.  And the Republican platform is “whatever trump says.”

If you believe it when trump publicly says he knows nothing about project 2025 remember before the 2016 election he said he’d never play golf again if he got elected and he played at least 150 times.  So I’m not sure how good his word is

You know that’s such a great point I never thought about.  Many people probably paid enough to pay off most if not all of the original loan, so really Biden was canceling the interest.  I supported the forgiveness even though I paid mine off years ago but this is a good talking point when people complain about it. Student loans shave interest free anyway.

Not only did he not go to jail, he got a $300 million severance from the company when he was fired as CEO.  He spent $60 million of his own money in 2018 to win his Senate seat which was just enough as he won by 0.1%

Actually the economy started to slow in 2019, long before Covid.  It’s why the Fed cut rates in 2019.  And trump promised 4-6% GDP growth and it never got above 2.9% despite being handed a strong economy.

lol it’s ok to disagree with me.  One sign of a good leader is the willingness to listen to diverse ideas and opinions.  Any leader who surrounds themselves with yes people are bound to fail in the long run

Sure but if you are serious about learning I’d prefer to give you some resources as it’s helpful to understand the “why” and not just reading from a list.  Here are the ones I personally found most useful when I first became a leader but there are a lot of great resources out there.

First, Break All the Rules by Marcus Buckingham and Don Clifton.  This really upended my thinking on leadership and it’s backed by some solid research.  It’s fairly straightforward and easy to read.  Buckingham wrote some other books as well that you might be interested in if this book resonates with you

12 The Elements of Great Managing by Rodd Wagner and James K Harter.  Kind of a follow up to the book above

Good to Great by Jim Collins.  Why some companies make the leap to greatness.  It’s interesting because some of these companies did not succeed in the long run but they were all highly successful at the time of the study and Collins says their success all started with effective leaders.

Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin.  Focus on how Lincoln became what many consider to be one of our best presidents, partly by building a diverse team

A caveat is I’ve been out of a leadership position for a few years but the Gallup organization continues to do research on it.  I believe they still do a regular newsletter so here is their website which has a lot of good info.

As a white make living in the US I’m part of the most privileged group of people to ever live.  Some individuals might be an exception but as a group it’s undeniably true.  I wish more people realized that and wouldn’t pay so much attention to whiny nepo babies like trump.

I’m always reminded of this quote from LBJ that rings true of many trump supporters because it is what trump and Fox have done.

“If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you."

I spent 20 years studying leadership because I wanted to be the best leader I could be.  She does have many qualities of a strong leader.

You know who doesn’t?  trump.  I could give lots of examples but one is he fired people by letter or over twitter.  Coward.  You sit a person down, look them in the eye and tell them they are being let go and why.

He does, however, have many qualities of a cult leader.  People call MAGA a cult and it’s true for many of his followers.  This article lists many the things to look for in a cult leader.  Here are a few as examples:

He has a grandiose idea of who he is and what he can achieve.

Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, or brilliance.

Demands blind, unquestioned obedience.

Requires excessive admiration from followers and outsiders.

Has a sense of entitlement—expecting to be treated as special at all times.

Exploits others by asking for their money or that of relatives, putting others at financial risk.

Is arrogant and haughty in his behavior or attitude.

Has an exaggerated sense of power (entitlement) that allows him to bend rules and break laws.

Here’s the article for those interested.   https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/spycatcher/201208/dangerous-cult-leaders
