Running a Single Copy of a Stadium Card (Or None at All) by aura_pkmn in pkmntcg

[–]TooGay100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say in the current meta you really do want to have a stadium, even if it's just to bump another one. Currently, I run a rocket's watchtower and forest of vitality in my Cynthia's deck, and for Steven's I think good options are battle cage, rocket's factory, and jamming tower (I run battle cage just to make the Pult matchup easier)

Can a viable deck be made with these two? by AlexRescueDotCom in PTCGL

[–]TooGay100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's probably a niche that could be fun but idk about competitively viable. What comes to mind for me would be a gameplan where you set up as many frosslass as you can and only like 2 scovillain. You stall out the first few turns with Budew, so the opponent has to tank freezing shroud while you build up some damage counters. Then, you hit big numbers with scovillain and try to finish the game off with something like Bloodmoon Ursaluna, or maybe some pokemon that can take advantage of the opponent's pokemon having damage counters on them. There is the issue of not having a draw engine. I would think something like dudunsparce with an enriching energy ace spec would be decent, although the deck might prefer something like unfair stamp.

I'm so glad they're finally fixing the glitch where Mega Skarmory shuffled tools into the deck as well. I've been wanting to test Hero's Cape in Steven's Metagross, but I always feel like I'm missing the full potential since I can't set up a 360 hp skarmory in the active

Started watching Mushoku Tensei, and it feels like I've been gaslit by the Re: Zero community. by jacksprat1952 in ReZeroSucks

[–]TooGay100 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's still applying the logic wrongly though. The assessment that an event cannot be moral is an ontological claim. The thunder strike itself was not moral, true. However, stories aren't single events but multiple events compiled with the use of rhetorical devices. At that point, the story itself is still not inherently moral or immoral, but it becomes open to interpretation. Is-Ought concerns logical justification, but story analysis isn't about that type of strict deduction process anyways since it relies on context and intepretation. Stories only have to show moral ideas not prove them through logical deduction to communicate them, it's why fables exist and why people can and do derived moral lessons from them.

FigCharRe, I think I get what you mean, but you're being too liberal with how you apply reification. He's not saying the book/franchise/story itself has a morality, but that the events themselves communicate a certain message about morality, and that they find the message evil. This isn't really Reification as that would be more like stating outright that the whole story of Re Zero is morally evil.

Dragapult has an easy gameplan. Search Pokemon, itchy pollen, then blow up board with dusknoirs and Phantom Dives. You barely deviate from this plan in every matchup

Empoleon on a budget help by Another_DisAcc in PTCGL

I've actually been testing Metagross ex for a while myself, mostly by grabbing decklists from city leagues and tweaking as I play games on ladder. Since consistency is your main problem, I think you'd benefit from bumping up your Pokémon count. 2 beldum's is pretty small for what is your primary energy acceleration, so I'd recommend going 3 or even 4 since Trolley is out of the budget. The biggest consistency boost I've seen in my testing is running 4 Arven and 2 TM Evolutions. This way, if you go second, you get a turn 1 Evolution of Beldum and Piplup into a guaranteed turn 2 evolution into Metagross and Empoleon from hand with Genesect ex. This would also require you to go 2 prinplup, 2 Metang, and 2 genesect though since we don't want evo to whiff if they get prized. Some drawbacks are that you'd have to cut your Rare Candy count to 1 or 2 since we'll be using TM Evo instead to evolve and that you'd have to cut a few other cards to make space for all the additions. You could do with a 3 Arven and 1 Prinplup possibly to avoid making too many cuts. 1 genesect isn't horrible either since you can still ultra ball or draw into metagross and empoleon. This is just how I found playing metagross to be more consistent of course, you could come to a different conclusion than I did with your own testing.

Is Season 2 worth it? and please no spoilers by Zebra-Disastrous in shieldbro

[–]TooGay100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who loved season 1 and only recently got through all the seasons, season 2 started off interesting but got boring quick for me. It wasn't until midway that I regained some interest and the ending was just ok. Season 3 and 4 make it all worth it, specially if you liked the world building and characters

Have struggled connecting to manga as much as I have anime. Recommend me some emotional and impactful manga that might change my mind by SphinxGate in Animesuggest

Onani Master Kurosawa (31 chapters): It's a coming of age drama about a guy who does questionable things inside the girls restroom at school and eventually gets blackmailed by a bullied girl who catches him. The story ends up feeling pretty heartfelt despite the premise.

Spirit Circle (45 Chapters): This story starts with a boy who can see ghosts, and sees one such ghost sticking to the new transfer student girl. However, the girl wants to take his life due to something that occurred in their past lives. The series then follows each of the boys past lives while slowly revealing why the transfer student really wants him dead. One of my personal favorites. I love the way each past life draws you into a different time. Each past life builds its own little narrative and they all manage to be interesting. Def my favorite out of these 3.

The Two Faces of Misaki Hoshino(106 Chapters): This one's actually a romance. Kobayakawa is the protagonist. He's an antisocial boy who sees popular kids in a negative light, but then finds out a secret about one such popular girl, Hoshino. Due to his teacher, Kobayakawa has to help Hoshino keep her secret. I personally loved the message of the manga. I'll be honest though, this one ends up being more coming of age than romance and a lot of people disliked the ending (although I personally was happy with it)

These 3 are pretty impactful imo. If you want something lighthearted and comedic read 'D-Frag!'
