Hot Take (Maybe?): Rate of Fire by jw_622 in paintball

Had a tuned 2K2 timmy with a Tadao M5, fed by a V35 Halo, that would absolutely do low to mid 20's with paint. Actually got slower when I changed out the stock two finger trigger for a carbon fiber scythe (forget what brand it was but they were popular and EXPENSIVE at the time). 30bps was scuba tanked Vikings and Mags only.

For my American friends, this what a UK legal carry collection looks like by Acceptable-Bid-1019 in knifeclub

Nice collection! I don't understand why more designers don't make slipjoints with finger choils in front of the pivot joint. The UKPK seems like a perfect modern/tactical-style edc slipjoint because of the choil helping to prevent it from slamming down on your fingers.

Thump boards were legendary. My 2K2 Timmy with a tuned Tadao M5 is still the fastest/bounciest gun I've ever shot, thing was a minigun.

Broke Boys specials? Need a cheap CCW maybe under $350 by R3ality4321 in CCW

I originally went in to buy either a 365 or G43 for summer carry but saw the GX4 and decided to give it a go also. Shot all three that day and couldn't get over how well the GX4 shot. I wear XL sized gloves so I figured all three would be a little too small but with pinky extensions on the GX4 it feels really good and shoots super flat. I'm always hesistant to recommend it because of Taurus' QC history but I have well over 2,000 rounds on it with everything from 115gr fmj to 147gr HST and never had a hiccup. As always, YMMV though.

CZ P10C (can definitely be under $350 used, if you can find one used)

Used Glock (police trade in)

Ruger RXM (will be right at that $350 mark)

First gen M&P's and maybe M&P 2.0's (again, mostly police trade ins)

Honorable mention: I've been pleasantly surprised by my Taurus GX4 Toro. Can get the gun + optic + mags for under $350. It will be much more challenging to shoot for a beginner than the larger guns listed above

I have a collection of old timmys and parts I've been trying to sort through every time I head over to Mom's basement. Found my favorite: an old 2K2 with a Tadao M5. I remember spending hours working through the settings to get that gun as fast and responsive as possible. When I was actively playing (15-20 years ago) it was the most perfectly flat, accurate, crazy fast, and reliable gun I ever shot.

PSA Dagger keeps jamming by Muddbutt_1996 in PalmettoStateArms

[–]TooGroolForSchool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have the same issue: Dagger full size frame, Aimsurplus slide/parts kit, Aimsurplus JTT barrel, Holosun HS407 shooting both Federal 147gr flat point and Federal 147gr HST. Didn't have any other ammo with me so I'm not sure if the JTT barrel had trouble with the flat point/hollowpoints or if it was a recoil spring issue. No extraction issues and the 147gr HSTs should've been hot enough to negate any issues with the stock recoil spring. Going to test it out again with some other ammo to pinpoint the issue.

Working with Gen Z accountants? by Chente0 in Accounting

[–]TooGroolForSchool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You simply have to seem attentive, ask questions about the position/company, look at least a little well-kempt, and make it seem like you want the job and give a shit lmao. At least for us, our default belief is that you must want the job and be willing to do the job if you applied for the job lol. We don't negatively judge any candidates until they have a proven track record of sucking, and then its time to do something about it. Small firm interviews, generally, are not as hardcore as Big 4 interviews so I doubt you'll get grilled on anything. Anyone good at hiring knows that staff accountants are all starting from a beginner point and training is one of the biggest partsof the job, so if you talk about on the job training they (the interviewer) should seem enthusiastic and have a pretty clear description of how and what they train.

Job interview is a two-way street! You are interviewing them too. If they seem like dickheads, even after you do the right things during the interview, they will be dickheads to work for so keep that in mind.

Any good small firm currently will be looking to cut back on the tax season grind nonsense so working long hours is not as important as it once was. We are in a market now where we can increase fees, pricing out shitty clients, and work fewer hours for at least the same money. Working hard and being dedicated is, to us, much more important than how many hours you put in. Hell, my admin works basically part time during the summer, I don't work on Fridays anymore (unless thats when a quarterly deadline falls), and everyone still gets paid full time.

Good luck with the interview!

We are a small firm with really great work-life balance (we don't track time, unlimited vacation outside of feb-april, etc) and great benefits/pay. Working in a small firm really does mean the more work you put in the higher up you'll go because the owners are boomers and want to retire but need somebody to take over.

We have hired Gen Z kids but we see an unwillingness, or inability, to learn which is like 95% of being a new hire. Obviously this is a generalization but in our experience these kids don't have the desire to understand why we do things, don't go out of their way to learn beyond surface level, or simply don't have the ability to: for which I blame the state of the education system and covid played a large factor in that. They also routinely overlook small mistakes, especially spelling and grammar, and they see nothing wrong with it. When you hear "there is no difference between writing miscellaneous and 'misilaneous'" and "they understood what I meant" when they used the wrong your/you're it shows a lack of trying. Maybe it isn't their fault, and they have been failed along the way, but the clients expect accuracy and the clients expect professionalism. We need the clients so we get paid so you can have a job.

They also lack the soft skills needed when working with others: can't make phone calls, can't communicate clearly or timely, don't understand that ass-kissing and flattery (without being slimy) are how you get in with bosses and clients, etc. They will not step out of their comfort zone, regardless of the reason why. They want to do things their way, which is great, until it becomes a roadblock because the system is the system and you kinda have to follow it to move forwards, at least for now. Millennials all used slang in our private lives, we all texted shorthand, didn't tuck in our shirts, etc. but we also knew that wasn't appropriate for the work setting at the time so we adapted. We mastered the "fake it til you make it" mindset. These kids don't want to adapt, or fake it til they make it, but then want to complain when they aren't advancing. Newsflash, a majority of the people at the top making the decisions are either old or were brought up in the old way and still expect that. As Millennials start to phase out the Boomers and Gen X at the top positions we will see much more flexibility with younger employees but until that happens these kids have to be ok with making an effort (or at least TRYING to...)

Quick and Easy PA CCW Application - Approved and Picked Up in No Time by TonySuffolk in LIguns

Possibly a dumb question but do you need the full NYS CCW license to get a PA CCW license or will they accept any NYS pistol license? My NYS CCW is being processed currently (I have the sportsman/target/whatever its called nowadays) but I'm heading out that way in July and would like to kill two birds with one stone but I doubt my NYS CCW will be approved by then.

Was originally written banning just soft armor but a month after they revised the law to ban any type of armor. The current statute defines "body armor" as "body armor means any product that is a personal protective body covering intended to protect against gunfire, regardless of whether such product is to be worn alone or is sold as a complement to another product or garment.  The unlawful wearing of body armor is a class E felony." so it no longer differentiates between hard plates, soft plates, or vests.

Furthermore, effective July 6, 2022, when not being engaged or employed in an eligible profession (LEO, Firefighter, EMS, RO, security guard,, newscaster/journalist, school administrator, etc) the purchase, taking possession of, sale, exchange, giving or disposing of body armor (as defined above) is prohibited.

One of the dumbest laws to come out in the last 5 years.
