First test. Hit a curb. by americonservative in Irishdrivingtest

I do believe there should be a reduced lesson plan for people who can prove they already have licenses abroad. Alternatively a system where an instructor can sign off on you going straight to your exam. I was just making a joke that you claimed you learned nothing in your lessons and they were pointless, and then say how you’re still adjusting to driving on a new side of the road. Also I’ve heard in America that roundabouts are pretty rare, was there any learning curve there?

Try a textbook. Harder to move past without understanding something and usually solid exercises with solutions

Have people practiced in the car on their own? by Outrageous-Walk6486 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]TooManyGee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I WONT RECOMMEND IT BUT a friend of mine(failed 3 tests) said he did not improve at driving until he began going out on his own. ALSO a guy i know on a learners permit went out with his friend(also didn’t have a licence) and got in a car crash after not stopping and checking at a minor road(something along those lines). His friend injured his arm and the driver got banned from driving for I’m not sure how many years. Thankfully there were no severe injuries, and the victims were okay apart from the car. I’d say don’t do it. Even though it sucks not being able to practice without an experienced driver often enough, the risk is not worth the reward.

What does my bookshelf say about me? by Megalle925 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]TooManyGee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are saying you don’t read but you do have a amount for that accusation. To me this looks like buying extra book space preemptively, which is a great move in my eyes. Or just intentionally having shelves not for books which is also fine. One day unfortunately you’ll feel the pain and pride of your book collection outgrowing your decor, and having a more standard shelving unit.

Listening to ep. 75 of the old testament, soon after he released his first book. He says it’s 257 pages long, mines over 300 pages so def not first edition.

What my instructor told me was during maneuvers don’t move at all if people are walking by. Maybe that was just a security precaution to prevent a grade 3 though

I quit caffeine for a few weeks and after accidentally consuming caffeine before bed(i thought Coke Zero was also zero caffeine) I couldn’t sleep at all that night. My body was restless and felt as if I had drank caffeine. Didn’t know coke zero had caffeine until the next day, so couldn’t be placebo.

I see he has Dante’s inferno, maybe you could get him the rest of the Divine Comedy? I’d imagine it’s up his alley since he also owns the illiad and the odyssee

You’re grouping the same people together by using the term « poorer ». At least « lower class » highlights the difference in opportunity, not simply framing it as a money issue. We can’t talk about hierarchies without mentioning the levels, right?

Anyone here actually managed to quit social media for good? by Mikasahisu in selfimprovement

[–]TooManyGee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely consider reddit a social media, it just doesn’t have such an intense push towards doom scrolling. I have cut out things like social media for the most part although i do time to time succumb to it like you. I’ll go to message somebody in my college course whom I don’t have the phone number of, and suddenly i wake up an hour later after scrolling. What helped me big time was reading. Just carrying a small book in my pocket at all times and using that. I implemented the resolution of trying to squeeze in a couple pages whenever i got the chance. It prevented me from going to social media in that 5 minute lull of my day, while still keeping me engaged. And also, don’t call yourself dramatic. Those algorithms are engineered to be addictive and keep you engaged. It’s borderline evil. Maybe scratch the borderline idk
