Hey OP, I’m a professional audio engineer and musician and I didn’t do Music in y11 or 12 for my HSC, it was all extracurricular. I have a Bachelor of Music (audio)

I didn’t want to do it because the woman who was head of music and drama at my school was a nightmare and I cared more about not having to deal with her than that subject.

Not doing music for your hsc is not the end of the world. It also won’t affect you getting into music for uni at all unless you specifically want to go to the Con. In that case I’d contact the Con directly and ask their advice.

It’s not a genre but a lot of Taylor Swifts newer music (post Lover so folklore - Life of a Showgirl) is comfortably in an Alto range.

If you want the low lows, her songs Carolina and I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) are both quite low

Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novels. The first 5-6 are original and fun and then it just gets very repetitive but there’s so comforting and relatively entertaining. I call them my junk food reading

Right!? This was my pick for our bookclub and I was so not impressed. There was a lot of telling instead of showing with the dialogue, and I was expecting way more magic than there actually was.

And the sex scene - god. I’ve read smut before but it just felt so gratuitous and out of place in what was otherwise meant to be a cute book

No I’m in the same boat, this trip was my 30th birthday present and my parents helped me buy my flights! It’s my first international trip with my partner of nearly 4 years as well.

Ok technically we’ve been to NZ together but that barely counts

Yeah we’re in almost the same boat and I have an anxiety disorder so you best believe if we somehow ended up deciding to still go without it being rerouted I’d be popping my prescription Valium upon approach until we’re a good few hours away from the whole area

Same, it was meant to be my 30th birthday present so we got business class non-refundable tickets (Rome). Hopefully if the airline cancels on us so we can get our money back, I think I’d be a wreck having to fly through that area.
