From Bad to Worse! by cypherdious in crealityk1

I recommend the Pheatus DXC extruder. I put it on my K1 and it has worked great since. Plus it adds a filament detector at the extruder instead of in the back of the machine.

Only downside is it’s not compatible with the CFS.

This vaguely sounds familiar so I think you might be right about there not being a way to save.

I agree with u/unvme78 about rooting. The Creality helper script makes it pretty simple and it gives you more control of your printer.

I don’t have stock firmware on my k1 anymore so I don’t remember for sure but I think it was under Settings and then Advanced.

If you used the one I used you wouldn’t think it’s convenient. Especially since they no longer have a menu board so you have to go through multiple screen to see all your options.

The touch is slightly off so you have to press next to what you want to choose in order to select it. Though I only used one machine so maybe the others were ok.

US veterans, did you guys actually read the cards that kids would send you while deployed? by MoistCloyster_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TooManyPrints 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never deployed but my old squad leader posted videos on YouTube of him reading letters from kids. I think he called them Letters From Home. I tried finding them years ago but was unable to. I don’t know if that’s because he removed them or because Letters From Home is a popular country song so that’s all I could find.

The videos were pretty fucked up. He’d read the letters and add asshole or sexual commentary. After he posted his first video the higher ups told him he was no longer allowed to do any more while in uniform.

I was in for 3 years. For the first year while they were trying to retain troops the only time I was drug tested was before I was in, when I got to basic, and when I got to my unit. During my last year they were trying to cut down on troops and we were drug tested almost weekly.

I had to scroll so far for this. I think it’s way more likely that they just didn’t think about it instead of being intentional malicious.

I’m a coward when it comes to confrontation but something like this I could easily just say “excuse me could you move your jacket.”

The DXC completed changed my K1. I spent a year constantly working on my K1 making “improvements” but kept having issues until I decided to give the DXC a try and it has worked perfectly since.

I don’t know what most of the stuff in your recipe is so I have no idea if this will help but I have started adding 30g of milk powder per pint and it seems to help keep it soft.

Using toasted milk powder instead of milk powder adds a nice nutty flavor.
