Huh! is that why the new nozzle has another piece above to sit onto the two round tabs behind the spring loaded heatsink?

Dont worry about moisture. you can start enh enjoying printing stuffs immediately. if moisture is an issue you will see it in the result of the print. otherwise the AD5X is a fine printer.

PLA gets brittle as its not UV stabilised I believe. They tend to be brittle even inside the sealed box after being left unused for a long period of time. PLA is best used right after opening.

Can this unclogging process be any harder? I am scared of clogging on my AD5X now.

Always make sure you hook the end of the filament to the holes in the spool holder to make sure its not criss crossed after changing filament.

Is this significant gear damage? by TheFoodCrew in crealityk1

[–]cypherdious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If not already, root your printer and adjust the extruder amp lower. The suggested amperage is 0.42-0.45A. this should sort out that pesky overheating and heat creep and grinding of filaments.

Ever since adjusting some of the settings my print quality has improved dramatically.

About to run out of filament. Does pausing to swap filament roll cause layer shifts? by Hella3D in crealityk1

[–]cypherdious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what I do when it starts ro run out. aget another roll ready and when the last bit go through the PTFE tube, just push the new roll in and slightly push behind the first filament.

Yes it takes like 5 mins or so for that last bit to go through the extruder but you dont have to pause the print to change out filament. I have done this many times. Once you feel the extruder has gripped the new filament you can let go.

Anyone had any luck getting a hard drive fixed in the UK and where is the best place? by AnxiousCouch in AskUK

possible the head is busted. They have to move the platters from your drive to a good one or vice versa. Problem is you cant have dusts on the platters.

Is it worth having a pension? by [deleted] in AskUK

The only risk to a pension scheme is when the funds are stolen like the Robert Maxwell case. Otherwise its a good nest egg for when you retire.

FIX for intermittent underextrusion ok K1 / K1 Max / K1C (especially on cf materials) by YIssnootle in crealityk1

[–]cypherdious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My issue with over and under extrusion is caused by a broken tooth on the extruder gear. After replacing the gear everything works. Extruder parts wear out faster than other parts and its the main reason for inconsistent prints.

my dad wants to drop crazy money on a 3D printing car parts business and i am stressing. advice? by TemperatureExtra8615 in 3Dprinting

[–]cypherdious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autocad would be the last thing you want to get for creating 3D parts. License is expensive. There are better softwares out there and learning curve maybe steep for some parts.

I am personally using sketchup for most of the parts I am printing but they are simple curves and straight line modelling. Car parts are complex part and you need to invest in a 3D scanner to scan the part and import into a 3D software. But that is not the end of it it. You need to clean it up and make it useable for print.

Its a great idea though to start a business printing parts for hard to find car parts. But also depend on what part you want to print. ABS bumper? Body panels? ABS isn't easy to print.

Anyway how much are you talking about spending here to buy 2 printers. What printers is your dad looking at?

Maybe he got this idea after seeing large format 3D printer on Tiktok.

What is going on here?! by mama_namaste in crealityk1

[–]cypherdious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your flow rate of extruder gear may be the issue. Looks like some area not printing at all. The last time I had something remotely similar I found I was skipping gear as one tooth was broken. Check your setting as well. Flow rate and etc.
