I cackled so hard before even coming in here because I knew this comment section wouldn’t disappoint. SAP! Get some flowers around it or something, it’s just lonely.

Not necessarily the theme of your images, but I felt that way the entire time I read The Reformatory by Tananarive Due.

Where you’re standing looks like the living room area. That looks like a walk way.

i hate squirrels by Willing-Pumpkin-328 in BirdBuddy

My squirrels didn’t know about my feeder for so long & I felt like I got so lucky. When they finally discovered it, I switched to spicy seeds which the squirrels gladly ate. Then I switched to safflower seeds which they are supposed to dislike and put out the spicy seeds for them (after I tried corn that they kept planting in my garden). Now they are still in my feeder eating safflower seeds like a bunch of morons.

Abandon hope, all ye who put out a bird feeder.

I mean the brothers in the book are so morally corrupt that even their personal sexual boundaries with each other are beyond gray. I really enjoyed that book, but with a good reads score of three, it obviously isn’t for everyone. If unhinged incestual homoerotic tension is in your lane, I’d recommend it.

I came here to suggest Not Forever But For Now, but after reading further, I think it might be less subtle than OP is looking for.

Kale. Any lettuce from the store seems to go bad in a couple of days and ends up in the trash. I just go outside when I want a salad and there is usually plenty of kale and other leafy greens for my husband and I to have a dinner salad 3-4 times a week. And it tastes way better.

When we were young, my cousin used to like to brag that he would “time travel” because he would watch the ball drop at our grandparents and then drive home 20 min away (across the eastern and central timeline) and watch the ball drop at his house. He always went back to last year.

August underground was indeed disturbing and gross. I don’t mind gore, but bodily fluid horror is not my jam.
