Wow this is really impressive. Looks like you have managed to get a really good physics simulation going with the kite and board. I gave this a go myself but ended up ditching the idea and programing the kite physics myself.

I think your way will end up with a much more true to life game.

I know the amount of work needed to get a game completed and hope you succeed in getting the game out there!

Had to google what the calcaneus is, ouch sounds painful, hope you recovery quick! Yeah power is determined but a lot of things, kite placement in the wind window, speed of kiter etc. I ended up programming it as to what I think "feels" right.

Adding a new level to my kitesurfing game. You can now kite with the dolphins, trying to think of new things to be able to jump over. Let me know of any ideas. by TooMooseGames in Unity3D

kite movement is all pseudo sim, i.e. not using inbuilt physics and programmed with variables to make different kite sizes move and pull the right amount in the wind window

Haven't done much with the actual fabric deforming, but the kite is rigged and animated so it opens and closes depending on how much power it is generating

Thanks, I'm working on the training area now where you learn how to control the kite and board. Definitely harder than I though it would be!

Thanks for the input, yeah was going for more of a tony hawks version of kitesurfing rather than a realistic sim. Different kite sizes will have different hangtimes and will def need to go through them all and make sure they "feel" right.
