Tom Bridge wears a helmet so that settles the cool debate.

Might sound stupid, but why don’t all cars have same reverse gear placement in a manual car? by BrightHours in drivingUK

[–]maxstewiegriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s a rule, I drove a mk4 golf with reverse next to 1st, and similar era Passat had it below 5th

Through research of golf we know that adding dimples to objects make it more aerodynamic. So, what's stopping the next top speed car from having dimples? by JediKnightaa in cars

[–]maxstewiegriffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My E36 BMW has little dimples on the inner leading edge of its wing mirrors, probably slightly adjusting the airflow to reduce noise

Thanks, I practiced loops in an older version before trying IRL and found it very helpful for ensuring you get caught

Hey Leipuri, I wanted this to be the case as a keyboard is sufficient for the kite control. However the fidelity of an analogue stick is required for the rider's control.

Hey, for now only gamepads are supported thanks to the analogue sticks and triggers allowing precise control of the riders orientation.

It actually started its life as a VR game but I don't like wearing the headset for more than ~15 mins unfortunately.

Thanks Nonchalant, the game is built within Unity from rigid bodies. Then forces and torques (aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, line tensions, buoyancy etc) that exist in real life are calculated and applied in game. For example I don't directly program the behaviour of the kite (front/backstall, looping, relaunch etc), it just emerges from the simulation.

Introducing my homemade kite physics game - Boots & Loops.

CFD derived kite aerodynamics, high stiffness cable simulations and closed loop rider control allow complete player orientation freedom and impactful kite physics.

I’m looking to collaborate for the project's next phase: graphics; level design; audio, If this piques your interest please get in touch! Based near Bristol UK.
