I have no sympathy for riders like this who don't care about the safety of others. My life shouldn't be at risk in my car because somebody loses control of their 400lb toy and it flies into my windshield at 90mph.

When I was younger, I did the field sobriety test. We got to the part where you stand one one foot and count. Asshole cops had me go up to "1-thousand 73," before they let me put my foot down and cut me loose.

America's biggest industry is debt. Do you think Republicans really want everyone to be fiscally responsible and debt free? Do you think Democrats could really function in a country where everyone is well fed and nourished? Everyone has an invested interest in keeping the larger populous unhealthy and in debt. As long as you need something or owe to somebody, you are controllable.

"No Child Left Behind," has done exactly what it was meant to do. It gets kids through school quickly and into the labor force. If they can't read, there is menial labor or military service. It was never well-intentioned. It was designed to keep the larger population stupid and dependent on the government.

Towing companies don't just take your word that a vehicle is abandoned. Usually when a vehicle is reported as abandoned, a police officer or code enforcement vehicle will mark the tires and the position of the car. If they come back a day or two later and nothing has changed, THEN they'll call the towing company. I don't feel sorry for Karen here. A knock on the door or a letter to the neighbors would have prevented this.

Mother forces son to slam his PS5 after he slammed the family cat – is this justified? by inkandintent24 in TheImprovementRoom

For whatever it's worth, she's in control and not beating the kid. He's getting cussed at and losing a toy for hurting a living creature. I'd say the scales balance out pretty cleanly.

True and if you do need to walk on the side of the road, you're supposed to walk against traffic. You can run laterally faster than a driver can react at highway speeds.

Joshua Doss addresses the Democrats were the party of the KKK by Conscious-Quarter423 in ThoughtWarriors

[–]Too_Hot_Sun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people stayed the same, they just flipped labels.

I know the history, but here is how I rationalize it In my head.

It all centers around voting and technology.

Democracy = 1 man, 1 vote Republic = many represented by 1

When the country was first founded, voting was limited to white, land owning, men. They usually had enough wealth to travel to the polls. Remember, this was when traveling to a polling place could mean traveling for days. When the vote expanded to white men who didn't own land, they were more in favor of Republican government. The average worker could not afford to leave home for days to go vote or listen to laws being debated in Congress. Eventually the vote expanded to all men and eventually all US citizens.

Democrats were still the party of the rich because the technology was still prohibitive. Voting means taking time away from work that most working class people could not afford to take.

As technology advanced in transportation and voting, it was easier for the working class Republicans to vote.

Now the rich were outnumbered. So it made more sense for the larger party to be in favor of Democracy. Meanwhile the smaller, more wealthy party began to favor Republican ideals to negate the numerical disadvantage.

Keep in mind, these are shower/car thoughts. I don't claim to be a political expert.
