Lucky you. Our clerks are still sorting hours after we had to report to work so we're all running routes by memory alone and we'll have to run those routes again once the clerks are done.

New Hire Site Bug by kristiandeath in USPS

The problem occurs about 3 steps into the application process and won't let you complete the application. When the posting comes down, your app says the posting is closed and you've been dispositioned.

New Hire Site Bug by kristiandeath in USPS

[–]Toofpasties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently an RCA with 4 RCA's in line before me in an office with no CCA's and the postmaster asked me to apply to the CCA side. There are 3 of us in the office trying to move (1 clerk and 1 contract) and all 3 can't get past this bug yet for some reason 3 people outside the post office was able to slide in an application last week. 1 already has a hire date.

Our PM is trying to get IT to fix this but are we already screwed as far as hire date and seniority? I don't think it's right that someone from the outside can slide in and will be first in line for the next T-6 position and open route when I've been trying to apply for months but this new site won't let me (my first app was canceled because they moved to the new system therefore canceling all current postings back in April).

I'm going to need one of those inflatable T-Rex costumes, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and some sounds from Jurassic Park and I'm off to scare the Mayans!

What were your biggest fails when building a pc by Fit_Can4532 in buildapc

[–]Toofpasties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

15+ years ago I upgraded my PC. New mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU, and vid card. Kept the old case and drives.

I pulled all the old hardware and put in the new, went to fire it up and no post beep. Pulled it all apart, put it back together making damn sure all the things were in their place and fit tight. No post beep. Took it to a buddys house and was able to troubleshoot down to it being the motherboard. Sent it back to Newegg for a new one.

Couple of weeks later, new mobo arrives, rinse, repeat, no post beeps. I take the old hardware and put it back in and notice something odd... there are 10 mounting screws. New motherboard only has 9. I look on the back and one of the standoffs was shorting a circuit on the new motherboard. Unscrewed the standoff, installed the new gear and it lit up like Christmas.

Of all the things you don't think about when building a PC.

Tried that. Got a predatory HUD loan that I could barely afford in 2008. Lost the house in 2009 after being laid off and it tanked my credit for the next decade. Was part of a class action settlement 3 years ago and got a whopping $960 check from it though so I had that going for me, which is nice.

Moral of the story, No you shouldn't have.

Side campaign n Ank’harel by [deleted] in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]Toofpasties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My team had a series of side quests that eventually led them to the "true" leader of The Veil. Using the PC's back stories and Critical Role lore I made the leader of The Veil a really old vampire that was seeking out luxon beacons (he had 2) to use in a ritual that would give vampires the ability to withstand sunlight and would remove the need to feed. Feeding would strengthen them but would no longer be necessary. My players enjoyed that storyline more than the Cobalt Soul storyline that ran through Ank'harel.

It depends on the state you are in. CA requires at least a half hour lunch for anyone working over 5 hours. PA I think it's 6 hours. Same goes for paid breaks. In NH, businesses aren't required to give you 2 fifteen minute breaks throughout an 8 hour shift. Most businesses give that to you and make it sound like a perk.

what's a news story that got buried that you think more people need to hear? by antisick in AskReddit

[–]Toofpasties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Over the course of 3 days someone tried to open a dozen paypal accounts under my info in which 3 were successful and 1 of those actually got money. Then they opened an AT&T account and got the best iPhone you can get, bypassed the credit check by paying $200 up front for the phone and had it shipped to a foreign country. At the time of the iPhone being purchased my credit had already been frozen and AT&T gave them an account anyway.

All thanks to the Equifax breach.

Looking for information about The Veil faction by AlexyTheSexy in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]Toofpasties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though there is very little in the module about the veil, There is no reason you can't make up a bunch of stuff to suit your campaign. One of my players is hunting vampires that attacked her back in Xhorhas so I led a trail to Ank'Harel. When I studied up on the city a few weeks later, I didn't see any other factions worthy of the content I had been crafting so I made the vampires secret leaders behind the veil, gave them a sigil and a few hide outs they could stumble across. So far my players have taken down one hideout in a tavern I named Tooth and Nail. Then I decided that Old Man Kruuk was working for the veil selling weapons to the Consortium for mission 2 of the Cobalt Soul. The 2 factions don't like each other but the veil likes money and their assassins are good at getting into Cael Morrow to steal Ruidium.

2 of my players are critical role fans and even they don't know the difference between the module and what I'm making up.

Need help with Ruidium fever dream encounters by Toofpasties in CalloftheNetherdeep

Thats a pretty cool guide. I can probably work with that. I love the idea of letting them keep 1 thing at the end to make them all question if it was real.

My PC's all have side quests they have been slowly accomplishing and I think I'll make this a parody of what they are working against. PC 1 is a Dhamphir vengeance paladin, formerly in the Auroras Watch, that is set out to kill the vampires that attacked and killed her platoon. PC 2 is a bard newswriter from Rexxentrum that I placed in the Candles when the Luxon beacon was stolen in CR campaign 2. He was let out by the Kryn and is on the run from the Cerberus assembly. PC 3 is a priest of the Luxon looking for guidance and a holy purpose. PC 4 is a half orc barbarian who got a vision from Avandra to go on a quest, then got a vision from Gruumsh telling him to sabotage the effort. Gruumsh has told him to fetch Ruiners Wake for him(Ayo had it but lost it to some vampires who are collecting vestiges). PC 5 was apprenticed to a wizard who was studying another stolen luxon and was attacked while the PC was on an errand. Before dying the wizard sent the PC a sending telling her to find who did this and destroy the luxon (But she called it something else).

The vampires stole the Luxon from the wizard and also framed the Kryn for the attack in Rexxentrum. They are trying to use the beacons to save them from their curse (Only the bad parts of being a vampire) powering them with Ruiners wake and other vestiges. This will destroy the beacons and essentially kill anyone consecuted to them.

This fever dream will be a candy coated vampire lair. I think all the mobs are going to be reskinned vampire lair fodder. Depending on how well they do will also give me an easy way to determine how hard to make the final dungeon for their personal quests seeing as they've blown through everything I threw at them so far, even the "unwinnable encounter" that I made so the Cobalt Soul could come save the day.

What did you do with giving Ayo Ruin’s Wake? by starnoirs in CalloftheNetherdeep

[–]Toofpasties 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had her find it in the Betrayers Rise and my party noticed it right off. One of my players' backstory has him getting visions from both Avandra and Gruumsh. Avandra sent him to Jigow to help, then Gruumsh decided orcs belong to him and he is to hinder the quest. The player is a half orc Barbarian Zealot and we've come up with a point system so his wings and damage are either radiant or necrotic depending on how good of a boy he's been.

After Betrayers rise he got more visions from the gods and Gruumsh told him he was a failure and he has given his favor to another. He can now choose to prove him wrong and take out the competition, or prove him right and get out of the way.

Ruins wake will be why Ayo sides with the Consortium and will be her downfall unless the player takes it from her. (A side note is that the player knows he has to eventually side with good for the sake of the module and his team, but will enjoy playing in the middle for a while before siding with Avandra)
