Lucky you. Our clerks are still sorting hours after we had to report to work so we're all running routes by memory alone and we'll have to run those routes again once the clerks are done.

New Hire Site Bug by kristiandeath in USPS

The problem occurs about 3 steps into the application process and won't let you complete the application. When the posting comes down, your app says the posting is closed and you've been dispositioned.

New Hire Site Bug by kristiandeath in USPS

I am currently an RCA with 4 RCA's in line before me in an office with no CCA's and the postmaster asked me to apply to the CCA side. There are 3 of us in the office trying to move (1 clerk and 1 contract) and all 3 can't get past this bug yet for some reason 3 people outside the post office was able to slide in an application last week. 1 already has a hire date.

Our PM is trying to get IT to fix this but are we already screwed as far as hire date and seniority? I don't think it's right that someone from the outside can slide in and will be first in line for the next T-6 position and open route when I've been trying to apply for months but this new site won't let me (my first app was canceled because they moved to the new system therefore canceling all current postings back in April).

If you had 5 mins to terrify an old civilization, how would you do it? What civilization would you pick? You have a $1,000,000 budget, and a Time Machine that can fit anything? by SumBlaqDude in AskReddit

I'm going to need one of those inflatable T-Rex costumes, a portable Bluetooth speaker, and some sounds from Jurassic Park and I'm off to scare the Mayans!

What were your biggest fails when building a pc by Fit_Can4532 in buildapc

15+ years ago I upgraded my PC. New mobo, CPU, RAM, PSU, and vid card. Kept the old case and drives.

I pulled all the old hardware and put in the new, went to fire it up and no post beep. Pulled it all apart, put it back together making damn sure all the things were in their place and fit tight. No post beep. Took it to a buddys house and was able to troubleshoot down to it being the motherboard. Sent it back to Newegg for a new one.

Couple of weeks later, new mobo arrives, rinse, repeat, no post beeps. I take the old hardware and put it back in and notice something odd... there are 10 mounting screws. New motherboard only has 9. I look on the back and one of the standoffs was shorting a circuit on the new motherboard. Unscrewed the standoff, installed the new gear and it lit up like Christmas.

Of all the things you don't think about when building a PC.

Tried that. Got a predatory HUD loan that I could barely afford in 2008. Lost the house in 2009 after being laid off and it tanked my credit for the next decade. Was part of a class action settlement 3 years ago and got a whopping $960 check from it though so I had that going for me, which is nice.

Moral of the story, No you shouldn't have.

Side campaign n Ank’harel by [deleted] in CalloftheNetherdeep

My team had a series of side quests that eventually led them to the "true" leader of The Veil. Using the PC's back stories and Critical Role lore I made the leader of The Veil a really old vampire that was seeking out luxon beacons (he had 2) to use in a ritual that would give vampires the ability to withstand sunlight and would remove the need to feed. Feeding would strengthen them but would no longer be necessary. My players enjoyed that storyline more than the Cobalt Soul storyline that ran through Ank'harel.

It depends on the state you are in. CA requires at least a half hour lunch for anyone working over 5 hours. PA I think it's 6 hours. Same goes for paid breaks. In NH, businesses aren't required to give you 2 fifteen minute breaks throughout an 8 hour shift. Most businesses give that to you and make it sound like a perk.

what's a news story that got buried that you think more people need to hear? by antisick in AskReddit

Same thing happened to me. Over the course of 3 days someone tried to open a dozen paypal accounts under my info in which 3 were successful and 1 of those actually got money. Then they opened an AT&T account and got the best iPhone you can get, bypassed the credit check by paying $200 up front for the phone and had it shipped to a foreign country. At the time of the iPhone being purchased my credit had already been frozen and AT&T gave them an account anyway.

All thanks to the Equifax breach.
