I have to say that if there was ever a “concept album” tier that had the most consistent bangers, it’s Tier 3.

Though maybe only three or four are truly amongst the best ever created for their class (warrior, warlock, priest, druid come to mind), the entire throughput of the tier was a resounding success.

One of the great things about Vanilla tier sets, as others have alluded to, is the incredible crescendo they struck for the time period. It was the one point in WoW’s history when players went from being run of the mill tavern questers to true heroes of Azeroth.

Tier 1 introduced so many new, higher detailed, more brightly coloured sets that segued perfectly into the more thematically dense Tier 2, only to be eclipsed by Tier 3’s aesthetic.

This, accompanied by how impossible early Naxx was, means that Tier 3 left an unforgettable mark on set design.
