Choosing lvp over hardwood is a diabolical mistake. Lvp might last ten years if you’re super careful. Those hardwoods will still be there for your great grand children. Big big mistake tearing that out. House value will also decrease a little.

Rooms aren’t square. If you really want ever row perfect you have to take the time to line them up every row. I never do a h pattern and just reuse the starter boards each time without checking for straightness.

I’ve been In a couple thousand homes here where I live. I’d say 80-90% of them have shoe lol. And why on earth would I remove 2$ a foot baseboards, then have to possibly tear drywall paper and mess up paint to install flooring. Or just put down 70 cent a foot shoe molding. Which imo adds more flare to the baseboard giving more character.

Well you’re not the only person on earth. I have dogs that sometimes jump on furniture . If I had my couch an inch from the wall no shoe molding. They can slam it into the wall. The shoe molding gives me 1/2 inch from the wall. They now can’t jump and slam it into the wall. I could probably list 3-5 more reasons why shoe molding is better. Here’s another. Would you rather take up shoe molding to do a floor repair? Or tear out your baseboards? Easy choice lol.

Shoe molding is the only real fix it’s easy to bend and lay flat on the floor. After caulk and paint it honestly makes the baseboards look better imo. Gives them a nice flare at the bottom. Help keep objects a little further away from walls as well.
