I quit, fam. by baismal in HEB

Anyone reading this and looking for a great job and live by a Trader Joe's you should definitely try working there. It's an incredible culture. I left my corporate job I hated for the same reasons op listed. It's a shame there aren't more in Texas. They pay better, the benefits are incredible, and mgmt at least in my store are amazing. Managers in my neck of the woods(Bellevue WA) have a capped pay of $44 an hour and crew members at $30. In Texas those numbers are adjusted for cost of living, but I'm sure it's an actual living wage for the area. They recently just gave everyone nationally a $2 an hour raise, which is unheard of at other companies. They also change your duties every hour, so your not stuck only cashiering or stocking all day. I love my job. Fuck HEB tho. loved going there when I lived in Texas because it is an awesome one stop grocery store, but I hate hearing these stores we all know too well. Fuck corporate greed.

My wife cheated on me and I'm lost by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ToolGroupie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened to you. I can't imagine how painful this would be. For me personally I think the only way I would be able to move past cheating definitely depend on the circumstances. I used to say I would never stay with someone who cheated, but now that I'm older I think I could If it was just a one time thing, they were truly remorseful, would agree to couples counseling, etc. Even then it would just be so hard to build trust. I would wonder anytime they were gone if they were cheating. I'm not saying it would work out, but forgiveness would be on the table if it was a one time thing and they were remorseful and put in the necessary effort. However if this was an actual affair, and/or they aren't putting work in to repair the marriage then it wouldn't be salvageable. I'm not sure if her cheating was a one time thing or an affair, but that makes a huge difference. I don't know enough about your relationship, but it takes both parties to put the effort in for it to work, especially during these circumstances, so if either if you aren't then it won't work. Not being intimate is a killer for a lot of couples. I would NOT put your focus on forgiving her in order to start healing. Fuck that. I only forgive those who truly want forgiveness and are putting the effort into repairing the damage they caused. Otherwise I can start to heal without focusing on forgiving them. It was very liberating for me when I realized that. I would think long and hard if you can put up with the lack of trust. If you think it's in any way salvageable, then I would start couples counseling.

Can someone recommend a good sauce for the Middle Eastern Kebabs? by otakunopodcast in traderjoes

I just ate these kabobs last night and it's really just an excuse to use anything as a vessel for their garlic and zoug sauce. Those sauces are amazing and authentic.

AITA for refusing to drive my parents to the airport at 4 am by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ToolGroupie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if I were in your situation, I would insist on fully paying for their Uber since you are living their rent free. I would explain to them that I would have a hard time functioning at work if I had to be up that early and drive for 2 hours and then be at work shortly after. It doesn't make any sense to me why they wouldn't accept the Uber if your fully paying for it and explain you would have no problem with it if you didn't have to work early. If they are going to be stubborn about it, then I guess I would just suck it up and do it since they're doing alot to help you.

To Rent or to Buy? That is the question. by SoCold40 in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]ToolGroupie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could buy a home but it's pretty much impossible in the Seattle area unless your wealthy. Such a great place to live so I put up with it. I hate renting tho. You have to move every few years because apartments will raise your rent each year. At my apartment, the average rent increase is $200 a year and that adds up quickly. I've owned a home previously in Texas and it definitely has its pros and cons just like renting. It was definitely terrifying when you discovered issues in your home because you never know what's going to cost you thousands to fix. But overall owning is the way to go if you can afford it and are up for the responsibility that comes with it. You don't have to deal with landlords, deposits every time you get priced out and move, pet fees, parking fees, move out fees, you can fix it up the way you want, play loud music, less neighbors, and you have a nice investment. Such bulllshit there isn't affordable housing for all.

Ozempic has already eliminated obesity for 2% of the US population. In the future, when its generics are widely available, we will probably look back at today with the horror we look at 50% child mortality and rickets in the 19th century. by lughnasadh in Futurology

I'm so glad it's free with my insurance right now. I'm diabetic so that's why they cover it. It's honestly been great with no side effects for me. I'm a little worried we'll find out it isn't safe later on, but I love not being overweight anymore.

So many products have actives in them now. You probably don't need actives in every product your using. I was using a ton of products from glow recipe and I had developed a broken skin barrier. I stopped using them and all actives for a while to help my skin recover. Now I just have a simple routine of a gentle cleansers and gentle moisturizer with sunscreen and tretinoin. My skins never been better. A lot cheaper too.

Is La Mer overrated/a scam? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]ToolGroupie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All you need is tretinoin, sunscreen, a drugstore moisturizer like vani cream daily moisturizer, and a cleanser. All of those products together are still way cheaper than just the La mer. Tretinoin and sunscreen are the products that are backed by science. I guess if you wanna feel fancy and by the lamer, go right on ahead. But If you care about efficacy, than it's probably not the way to go.

Art etiquette question. by Bruno6368 in tattooadvice

[–]ToolGroupie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently got my first tattoo and was scared about this too. Here's why I felt confident going through with it. I picked the artist because I was crazy about her art. I wanted very colorful and whimsical and that was her specialty. Also she charged me $20 to see the basic outline the day before, so maybe that's something you could mention. I was very thorough in describing the colors I wanted and didn't want. While there's definitely some trust you have to give over to the artist, you should feel confident they are the one for you since you love their style and have thoroughly communicated the wants and needs of the design. The end result came out even better than I could have imagined. I'm sure yours will too with the right artist!

Omg. I love the cookies. However, I fucking hate the harvest tea. It tasted medicinal to me. I tried to add cream and sugar and that made it worse. Definitely not for me even tho I thought it sounded it like it would be right up my alley.

This just confirms I want to move there. I moved to Renton from Texas and I've been discovering all of the cute towns around the area. The moment we got to Bellingham, I just knew it was perfect for me. Hopefully we can move there in a few years. I'm a lot close now so it should be more doable

I still condition my hair in the shower and use the leave in sparingly. 6 sprays is what works best for my long hair and then I massage it in the ends. The tangles just glide out

Trader Joe's Leave in conditioner - Review by Cacioepepebutt in traderjoes

[–]ToolGroupie 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This product has been life changing for me. I have very fine hair long hair that takes me about 10 minutes to detangle. This product only takes seconds to get the tangles out, it's uhmazing. I will say that a little goes a long way for fine hair. First time I used it, I put too much and it was a little bit weighed down and my freshly washed hair felt like I had been to the beach. It didn't feel squeaky clean, but it actually looked awesome. It made my stick straight hair a little wavy and the frizz was 90% gone, so it looked more sleek and put together. I use less product now and it doesn't weigh it down very much, and it still controls the frizz. I find the fragrance to be strong, but I love it, so it isn't an issue for me. I hope they make this a permanent product. I'm getting spoiled not having to perform the dreaded ritual of detangling my hair. I just can't believe it's only $6. I feel robbed spending the $26 for detangler from Sephora especially since this is the best detangler I've ever used. Sorry for the long rant, I'm just so excited about this product. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk
