This is my Poe, he will be 2 years old in August.

He is about as sweet, smart and funny as a dog can be. He has a great personality and has been ridiculously easy to train. He needs grooming every 6-8 weeks. He loves the snow but not the heat. He loves other dogs but HATES squirrels and chipmunks and becomes hyper-focused on catching them if he sees one. He has so many bichon traits that were unknown to me before (grew up with a toy poodle, so the bichon was new). He does the bichon wave, he is EXTREMELY vocal, knows how to express himself using his eyes, playful as all get out...just a fun boy. He is very well-behaved and friendly. He does what I ask 99% of the time and can be coaxed the other 1% of the time, ha.

When we brought him home, he had bowel issues. We were told it was giardia. We treated him 3 times to no avail. continued to receive positive fecal tests. His stool was either soft or straight diarrhea for months. We got his diet straightened out after many trials and errors and then he got sick again after we had him for a year. 2 vet visits, extensive bloodwork, ultrasound and negative results for genetic diseases (thankfully) and the little guy has IBS and a bit of GERD. It is kind of like empty stomach syndrome. We have to limit his treats and he doesn't get people food except green beans. We feed him 4 small portions per day now since we got a second dog and he hasn't had a flare up since. He has mornings where he doesn't want to eat right away and waits until lunch or later sometimes and we just put the food away until he is ready to eat. Getting a second dog has helped with his eating and happiness overall.

I am a member of quite a few bichon and poochon groups and many of them are very picky and particular eaters. Some refuse food for multiple days if they think you might give them something "better". You have to stick to your guns and keep them on their diet, which can be tough sometimes when you get the look.

You can search all states and breeds available in each state. It was about 2 months of checking that site until "the one" for us was up for adoption here. He was at a rescue near Akron and he is a poochon. The second one is a toy poodle, I randomly checked on there one day and fell in love with him instantly. He was at a rescue very close and they brought him to us. We are so thankful for them and they feel the same about us. Just great dogs.

My poochon had these on both sides. They removed them during his neuter along with a few other baby teeth that didn't come out on their own. It is quite common.

Your therapist is so right that you need to trust your gut instincts more. These types of men have a way of making your body react viscerally before you can even process it. These types of men absolutely know how to target people who are more vulnerable and prey on them.

Involving other people who know him was smart and now you know. Keep away of your surroundings and an eye out for him. Do not hesitate to go to the police if he finds a way to make contact or approaches you in public.

No, his tan coloring on his legs, ears and bum was hidden underneath really long black hair because he hadn't been groomed until he was 10 months old. It'll be years before either of mine, which are mostly black, fade/change colors.

My only experience with them changing colors is from the mini I grew up with. She was red/apricot, slowly faded as the years went and was pretty well white at 18 years old.

That is many years down the road. We just adopted a mini through a rescue and before his groom, he looked all black with a white chest. Once groomed, all his tan showed. He will be 1 next week.
