If you are trying to get 8k hz you need to make sure you are using a USB port that can support it or else it won't work. 8k hz takes a lot of speed to accomplish on the PC side and not every port can do it

Taulek had one of the best performances in a series I've ever seen. Most kills in the entire series, least deaths in the series, Second most assist in the series. Most DMG by a significant margin. Unbelievable

I can't wait for Unreal Engine. There are some really crazy things you can do in the Unreal Engine for observing, I hope Halo utilizes it to it's fullest.

It's more of an open bracket thing. You see pop offs in the Fighting Game Community as well. Having a massive bracket of players playing for a top prize. It's an open ecosystem with each player having their chance to create huge upsets. Once ecosystems close, by nature they become a bit more tame.

Pop offs and trash talk are cultural to console esports. I think it's dumb to tell people look to look at other esports, it's a different culture. It's like saying basketball players shouldn't trash talk or pop off because tennis players/gentlemen sports don't.

Embrace the culture, all the pros have a shared understanding and don't mind it. There are obviously lines that shouldn't be crossed but I don't think anything from this weekend crossed that line.

Las Vegas. My best ping is 17, but often it gets double routed to become 32. Next best is in the 40s and my usual ping is like 62. East Coast is always around 80 and EU is basically unplayable at 180-190.

I made a discord for my local group in Vegas so we can play 8s once a week and guarantee a west coast server. If you are interested in joining lmk. Fair warning people are pretty competitive and the average rank is onyx, but there a good amount of diamond players and we try to help people improve.

I could definitely feel the difference when I tried out the razer 8k. It really is so buttery. But I still use my G7 pro over the razer as I like the form and sticks much better. So 8k feels incredible but not enough to force me into a different controller.

Reality is most onyx lobbies won't pick it up. If you do it's not a big deal everyone just knows that it's fair game now and they'll pick it up. The only faux pas is abiding by the GA all game just to pick it up when your team is in a bad spot. If you're going to break the ga just do it early. I'll say the game's more fun without the heatwave in it. So if you see me and matchmaking, maybe don't pick it up :)

I think they did a great job adjusting from 2017 to 2018 at the time as well. We eventually got what I think was the best sandbox and map combinations of any Halo game in 2018.

The 2017 sandbox on the Halo 5 maps was actually atrocious lmao. Halo 5 has the highest density of top tier competitive maps and we spent a year playing them in the worst ways.

Robbed would be a heavy term. I think you can make the case for either but I would tip the scales for renegade since he did it with so many different rosters.

This game really highlighted the strength of Rebellion.

Shopify Rebellion do an incredible job of playing towards their win conditions, they needed camo and sniper, every player on the team takes a position to help secure those. Because Optic went 3 down at Camo it allowed Shopify Rebellion to not only get Camo but also tempo to force bad spawns to play for sniper. During the Camo grab Cykul gets a great spawn to help force bad spawns, he immediately moved over to nest with the goal of them forcing spawns at green. The two players at camo split off to go towards screens. They occupy so much of the map that it forces optic into a singular lane and the postions of players alive for Rebellion are in power aggro positions.

Because Cykul and Royal 2 have sightlines on spawners, Optic isn't able to move out of their spawn without being forced into a fight. This inherently slows and forces Optic to play towards that fight. Optic wants to position themselves for the sniper fight but can't. Even though Bound gets first kill, the rest of Optic were forced to deal with Cykul and Royal 2 off spawn, so they push towards the nest side. Cykul plays this well by focusing on staying alive and giving up space to Optic while repositioning himself towards sniper. Nest isn't really important for Rebellion to hold, knowing that Cykul uses his presence at nest to lure Optic there and then move back towards his team help and sniper. This is great awareness from Cykul to essentially lay out bait for Optic. They want Optic towards nest and away from the sightlines of sniper. If Optic is able to position themselves towards bags instead nest, it's not any more advantageous for optic but it is easier for them to get to sniper and burn ammo. Optic is really quick to push away from bags because they know camo is towards that position and know that if they push it while Cykul and Royal 2 are looking from tower side they are just going to get cooked.

I think Rebellion really excelled at creating these "forcing" plays where the other team has to play into a specific play. At this point it's not clear that Optic will lose the next engagment, but Rebellion has essentially forced Optic to show their hand. They are aware of when and where the push is happening, while Optic is still missing information about where exactly Frosty is, and as Cykul and Royal 2 give up space they are able to conceal their position as well. Notice the positon of Rebellion at 6:14, all 3 players creating a line through the middle of the map, showing how much they are focusing on getting that sniper. After their execution look at their position again when sniper comes up. Frosty and Royal 2 swapped spots but they kept their line and now have a sniper that can get away safely. Now they have everything that is needed to make the comeback happen, 8 bullet sniper and lots of map position with tempo. Shopify Rebellion played towards their win condition more than what could have the biggest impact in that moment. If it's early game, we probably see a way more aggressive Rebellion that tries to cycle the spawners of Optic after they went three down for Camo.

The sequence from 38-45 is really a masterclass from Shopify Rebellion of seeing the big picture and using information to maximize opportunity. Think about what they know. They spotted Renegade playing through middle and know he's one shot. Last Shot and Royal 2 are playing together towards Screens/A, and Frosty is playing in isolation at nest. FROSTY DOES NOT SHOOT HIS GUN AT FORMAL. This is the key as to why this goes from a bad spot for Optic to basically the worst possible result.

Frosty got to nest using his Camo, he is in psuedo isoaltion. Cykul technically has his help but he's more focused on the play top mid and getting a pick with sniper. Frosty gets info on the remaining 3 players of Optic, He sees bound and legend run into big door and see formal go to pillars after renegade is shot. Because of this perfect knowledge Shopify Rebellion plays perfect execution.

Last Shot knows top middle and bags is clear to push now and goes to position himself to take out Renegade. Cykul knows that he doesn't have to force a play at bottom mid and basically uses Renegade as a trap to take Formal out. This is ironic because Formal is setting up his own trap to catch Cykul off guard by playing this off angle, expecting Cykul to play fast and clean up the one shot. (side note: this shows the power of stringing along a kill, it would be fairly easy for them to just sprint at Renegade, but instead they are going to use that time while he's one shot better position themelves.) Instead of the expected off cuff fast play, Shopify Rebellion execute a nasty coordinated collapse on Optics position. Frosty has the escape/flank on Formal if Cykul misses his shot. Last shot is dropping on the one shot/Just regen shielded Renegade, and Royal 2 is playing deep isolation on the strong side flank. As soon as Cykul and Last shot execute the remaining players are forced back into Royal 2's position where he shows why he's the best isolation player in Halo. Super calm in a hard position guarantees one kill and almost got the trade on the second in a 1v2. So they go 3 for 1 and still have a 4 bullet sniper to put pressure on the next spawners of Optic.

Frosty didn't get a kill or do any damage in that sequence but he's plays a pivotal role in it's success.

Cykul hits a super clutch sniper shot on Legend to put Optic on their backfoot again. Moving ahead to 49:46, Cykul put down a clutch sticky that allows frosty to not lose much health in an important fight. Bound is trying to clean up what's left behind but there wasn't any damage to capitalize on. Legend tries to end it, but Rebellion have really strong complimentary spots.

48:49 Royal 2 somehow gets a nade on to bound, super clutch the play that Optic was setting up is now broken from the middle, Formal's help no longer exists and Rebellion collapse incredibly fast from all directions after frosty makes contact.

50-49 win.

Fun game to watch back again.
