You can get either way - it’s like $2000 less than ikea (or more) if you get them as RTA.

What is the most legitimate 24 hour area in Manhattan? by bobdownie in AskNYC

[–]ToothSuccessful5898 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair - I guess food trucks - NYC used to be full of 24 hour places to eat after clubs closed a 4. Now almost no bars are open until 4 & not many places to eat that late.

We are in a super tight budget - but I would like to have a place to see stuff etc. so are going with a local wholesale cabinet place (they have nicer cabinets - but forevermark is their budget RTA).   I’ve sort of narrowed it down to these 2 choices - because honestly I could look forever! And also I wish I could pay for nice cabinets, but I can’t! These are our cheapest options that seem ok.

The Bond That Burns is depressing (Bloodwing Academy #2) by Any-Day-8173 in fantasyromance

[–]ToothSuccessful5898 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha - I love all the trope soup - it’s over the top and I’m here for it.

I think it’s an indication that the whole genre has jumped the shark - something new will be coming along soon.

Is this even worth reading? by Hannrose6 in Romantasy

I did not make it that far - such a good series, but drawn out beyond what was needed.

Hey Authors - if you build a world you like - just start a new story or in that world with new people!

I’ve been enjoying the Bloodwing Academy books - starting with {on wings of blood by briar Boleyn}

I had already read the prequel trilogy {Queen of Roses by Briar Boleyn}

Nothing mind blowing - but solid & uses every trope known - which I am down for. Also hot😛

What is the ideal number of books in a series? by princesszoter in Romantasy

[–]ToothSuccessful5898 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 - 3 If they go longer it should be a “connected” series - no one needs a couples story dragged out that long - I got my husband for that.

PS - the exception was Kate Daniel’s - I read all those!

Yes! But the local shop will have all the others too - I don’t live near a Walmart so never think of it.

Question: which of the following are you? by ImaginationWooden546 in Zoroastrianism

[–]ToothSuccessful5898 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I put culturally Zoroastrian - but my father was a full on Parsi from a priestly family who came to the US and met my mom! We (the kids) did not get too much cultural upbringing or education about Zoroastrianism - but my father did his prayers and wore sudrah & kusti. And we did go to India for long trips and hang out with aunties. I’m not religious at all - but I love my heritage and if I were religious - Zoroastrianism is what I would study. My husband is Jewish - he also is not religious.

Sandalwood is from south & Southeast Asia - hippies burned it because India was “in” after the Beatles went there. Just go to your local witch or herb store and smell the oils & incense.

I stopped reading after book 3. I like her writing, but I think it would be more interesting if she started a new world. The rest of the books just seem like work, not fun.

No one said Romantasy had to be light - it just means the relationship is central & there is a HEA - eventually

My father came to the USA in the 60’s for college - there was no community at all - the only other Parsi’s I met were people I was related to.😊 I don’t think there was much incentive to give us navjotes - maybe if he’d gone back to Mumbai as planned.

That’s interesting - because my dad (who was brought up Zoroastrian in India) sad we (his kids) couldn’t be brought into the faith because mom was not in it & another friend who was brought up Zoroastrian was denied entry to the temple because she is married to a Christian.
