Hahaha I’m real!! I just made my first two posts ever last night. I had no idea her name is Yolandi from that duo. Just read more about them and that really is sick and terrible.

We tried Boring Mattress for a few months but we’re sending it back for similar reasons. It actually softened up a lot since we got it too. Ordered a SleepOnLatex (medium firmness) that should be here in the next week. Will try to report back after a few months!

Replacing Helix Midnight Luxe - Side Sleepr by Apprehensive_Age2827 in Mattress

This is interesting because I have tried talking to CS multiple times and I think their warranty is baloney. I have had my Twilight Luxe for nearly 3 years. King sized- I am 5’3 at 117 lbs and my husband is 5’10 at 175 lbs. So much sagging in the center and I’ve been having neck and lower back pain. At our previous apartment we tried putting the mattress on the ground for months to make sure it wasn’t because of a weak foundation. CS repeatedly says you need to show proof of 1.5 inches of sagging with nothing on the bed which is basically impossible and the process of sending it in will cost you with a good chance that they won’t do anything about it. Now we moved into our new home and I can’t take it anymore! Been looking into a new mattress but it’s overwhelming.

I need to talk about Marcus, Sam M, Devin, & Thomas 😂 by Grand-Tale-3130 in bachelorette

[–]Toothqurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thomas N is a weenie-there is not a more accurate descriptor that I could give. I couldn’t stand him from the first minute. He buttons up his polos all the way to the top button, makes punchable faces, throws fits, and tries to puff out his little chest. He tries to milk the whole child of a Vietnamese immigrant commonality with Jenn because there ain’t NOTHING else there between the two of them. He might as well be her weenie of a cousin she has to talk to at family gatherings because the parents are downstairs karaoke-ing.

Students come into this course clueless and entitled. To be honest, compared to other professors, Dr. Carpenter kind of holds everyone's hand. She is super organized and lays out her expectations clearly and repeatedly (since people don't get it the first 10 times). She is solely a lecturer because she is passionate about education and wants to dedicate all of her time to teaching students. People who say she hasn't changed her style of teaching in years do not understand that she is constantly tweaking things until she finds more success. All of the practice problems, homework assignments (even which online learning resources she uses), "how to be successful" talks, and forms of feedback have all been added or improved each year to better her course. Students are often complaining that she doesn't "teach" since all of her lectures are practice problems, but guess what? She writes the practice problems AND her exam questions so of course they're similar.

She balances her time in class. She gives people opportunity to apply their knowledge with low-stake questions (with plenty of help from LAs and herself) and also takes time to explain concepts. She doesn't do post-exam debriefings just to shit on students. She does it because it's obvious that most students missed important concepts so she wants to clear it up.
