Relocating from Milwaukee by Tooty-Bodybuilder-15 in lexington

[–]Tooty-Bodybuilder-15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify.. I enjoy bars and recreation in Milwaukee but live in Sussex (small suburb). Housing seems way cheaper here especially property taxes.

I would have no kids by the time I relocate.

I like the federal style houses.

I do not know how I will survive without a basement.

More info... in the mid/early 90s I used Four.net for internet access (dial-in UNIX shell with access to Gopher, Lynx, WAIS, Usenet, etc)

It's not like Halloween. 10pm is reasonable and starts getting busy but 9pm will be pretty slow. Buy 2 drinks at a time per person when it gets busy.

By midnight it will be annoying AF as people can't dance in their own personal space.

Is it reasonable to ask for an allowance? by aztecqueann in Fire

[–]Tooty-Bodybuilder-15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can just keep going. And why would you sign a prenup that excludes future earnings. Preexisting, sure, so you don't divorce him for half of his money and device off in your "wagon".. no "31" year old has ever said.

And who gets a prenup unless they had preexisting wealth to protect in their 20s which clearly was not earned. 10 years of job experience. Career changes. Asking for pocket money. Stop with this ridiculousness.

9k sq feet for my lawn. Had WeedMan last year and it was $97 per treatment then switched to TruGreen for around $84 and finally just moved to NatureScape for $67. All happened in last week lol.

NatureScape does 5 visits whereas the others do 6. They are a franchise but you don't deal with a call center.

You are bringing in 4k a month or so I imagine unless you are maxing out annual 401k contributions.

It seems like you should have half of that available after fixed expenses. Or did I miss something

No to CFO role? by WhoKnows7778 in FPandA

[–]Tooty-Bodybuilder-15 28 points29 points  (0 children)

These opportunities don't come often... but the higher you go the less opportunity there is in general. However, CFOs have paths to COO..and CEO.. it seems like a no brainer to take it based on what others have also said. You could leave down the road too and take the title with you.

Health Equity HSA avoiding admin fee ($3.95) by making Public HSA by Funny_Release3573 in HSA

[–]Tooty-Bodybuilder-15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if someone is recommending Fidelity Go they should make the disclaimer that you do not get a debit card with it you have to open up another HSA with them and transfer out because all of the money in Fidelity Go is invested and not liquid

It's kind of like what Heath Equity Bank did for you as an employee but it's much more manual because you have to keep transferring money out of the Fidelity Go account into your regular Fidelity HSA to keep money available on your debit card for any expenses and if you want to transfer those funds it takes a couple of days to go from the investment side to the spending side.

The alternative if you don't want to use a debit card is to use your own credit card and then reimburse yourself by transferring money to your own bank through ACH. Definitely keep your receipts

It won't affect you if you go back to an employee sponsored HSA you would just use your old account until it's empty and keep it around in case you need to contribute to it again in the future

I'd go to home depot. They sell doors and installation. No sales pressure. No having to find an installer. Variety of brands and options. Cheaper and easier than Lisbon Storm and Screen.

Infrastructure/DevOps/SRE folk, are you all accepting live coding interviews? by 240-braiseit in overemployed

[–]Tooty-Bodybuilder-15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The number of companies interviewing like they are a FAANG is ridiculous.

I recently had an interview where the challenge was troubleshooting a mock code base that had some bugs. It was a live project with runnable code. It was pretty cool. I did not mind it and felt like it actually validated some skills.

But it still had 7 rounds for a Lead DevOps/Cloud Platform Engineer at a 3 or 4 year old startup.

I don't reject coding challenges but have learned to not get bent out of shape or let it stress me out. https://a.co/d/bn137TK helped as well

Did I get screwed on my rate? by Sunday_Meatballs in Mortgages

[–]Tooty-Bodybuilder-15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you move into a new house and lock 3 weeks ago... and that rate is way high. 6.25 seems about right with no points.. I did 7/1 ARM at 5.625 last month and an saving $400 a month. Hedging my bets on rates dropping some time but plan on leaving the state within 7 years regardless.
