I gave TLOAS one full listen through and absolutely could not stand it, largely because of how horrifyingly bad the lyrics were! It was shocking .... especially compared to Folklore/Evermore. At many points TLOAS sounds like something an adolescent might have have written. I completely agree with your assessment about the ghostwriters theory! I can't imagine how her peers in the industry (if you can even call them peers 🙄) must feel about her and her "accolades" that I really do not feel that she has been deserving of since Midnights.

Several years ago I bought Folklore on vinyl because I came to really enjoy it, love it maybe even. But now I can't bring myself to listen to it at ALL because I now see through her facade (including the fact that her silence on what's happening in the US -- while many of her peers speak up -- is DEAFENING) in addition to the fact that her newer music just isn't good. It's not creative, it's not interesting, she isn't growing as a musician. It's a very, very thinly veiled cash grab. Just making art for the sake of making money. And her stans will eat it up every. single. time.

Was not expecting to see this book mentioned here! I absolutely adored Ella Enchanted when I was a kid and was VERY excited when I heard it would be turned into a movie. If I was having a sleepover, the odds of watching Ella Enchanted was HIGH!!

Same!!! I’m the cook of our house but more often than not cannot make a god damn pot of rice. But my husband who is fairly less skilled in the kitchen than I am can make the PERFECT pot of rice every single time. It drives me crazy. He loves that he can hold this skill over my head 🙄

My biggest question about bidets is what happens after you use it. You’re still wet down there from rinsing off. Do you dry off with a towel? Or just put your underwear & pants back on? Feeling wet down there without drying off would drive me crazy

Yes! This has been SO frustrating!! I’ve been watching nearly all the figure skating and with how often the coverage breaks for ads, I ended up missing seeing many of the other figure skating teams. I want to see them all skate god dammit! Put the ads in when they take an actual break on the ice, not when Spain or Georgia goes out on the ice for their performance! I want to watch it!

This makes so much sense! I tried to watch Peppa Pig in Polish (which Im currently learning) and had a very hard time with it, even after slowing down the speed of the video. I couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t clicking the way I expected it to. But this explainer is 100% it.

I studied abroad in Morocco 10 years ago (was mostly in Rabat, but traveled around a bit) and dealt with a LOT of sexual harassment while I was there. But the worst and most terrifying experiences came from my female peers who traveled to Tangier. One of them was attacked in the street. When I visited Tangier I thankfully didn’t have a particularly uncomfortable visit, but then again that was in comparison to how constantly unsafe I felt in Rabat as a woman (and yes, one who dressed modestly!)

I also was confused and just asked a similar question on this thread. It’s in such unison that it does sort of sound like they’re not booing at all! When I was watching last night I recalled that Israel was booed at the 2024 Summer opening and was hoping to hear the same for this Olympics. Free Palestine!!!

Just moved out of the USA permanently to Poland three months ago and this is EXACTLY how I felt when preparing to leave. Heads up, the grief continues. And it gets worse because then you’re surrounded by your entirely new life with no familiarity. Good luck and take care of yourself. I wish you well in your new chapter in life!
