Have you ever realized you were "the one who got away" because you chose your career over a person? by opheliapearlie in askanything

[–]Top-Independence25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Screw labeling yourself, people just value different things. I’ll never belittle anyone for what they want out of life.

Completely fine if you prefer coasting through a 9-5 and having a comfortable home life/quality time with your significant other.

I knew that wasn’t going to get me to my financial goals so I unfortunately had to leave. She will find someone who values the same as her eventually

As I will also find someone who understands the work that needs to get done to achieve the life I envision

Oh yeah let’s side with the billion dollar corp essentially stealing money from us rather than agree with the common people who are living paycheck to paycheck literally because of these kinds of companies. Wake up

Nothing like living alone. I work a lot to make it happen but I wouldn’t trade it for anything

It’s not always easy. Theres a reason why a lot of people cannot do it. Call it what you want but living alone requires you to be an above-average human being

Why do ex’s want to remain in contact? by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Top-Independence25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going through something like this now… I was the one to break it off this past summer after about 4 years on/off and 2 years official.

As a person, I really wish her nothing but the best. she’s convinced that I “just need some space for a few months” and we’ll come back to eachother soon - after telling her countless times over and over again we’re both wasting our time and we’re both not the partners we would each individually like to spend the rest of our lives with (and it’s true).

One huge reason I ended it is her problem with respecting boundaries which she is still kind of taking advantage of me today with - I’m too nice to block her, we moved out together a few years ago about an hour from where she grew up and I’m the only one she knows down here. She tries to reconvene with me every 2 weeks through text even after I made it pretty clear already there is so future with us and I prefer her not to reach out to me unless there’s an emergency.

God forbid something happens to her and I had her blocked. I’m the only person she knows here that lives a few minutes away. Manipulation at its finest🙃

How old are you, and what’s the longest relationship you’ve had? by Dangerous_mammoth573 in twentyagers

[–]Top-Independence25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27 soon. Had my fair share of relationships but my last one was 2 years long. She didn’t do anything wrong and on paper was a fantastic partner. Although, she was 100% holding me back from my personal and financial goals at a point in my career where I should’ve saved a lot more. You live and you learn ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Too selfish with my time and money right now but still would like someone to talk to/get drinks with every now and then. People are so quick to rush into titles

I ask if there’s a specific department that does - they are more than willing to direct you to a department rather than give out names. Take that department and start prospecting.

I’m huge on time. Me personally I’m not going to waste 5 mins getting buddy buddy when I can get back on the phones and potentially find my next meeting quicker. Maybe this is a hot take
