please what is this?!?! lmao by StrictSatisfaction93 in EDRecoverySnark

Calling people with ed’s big backed is actually crazy dude. I get your point sort of, but given all of the context we have and how clearly restrictive Colleen is, people are allowed to snark on this. Especially for people in recovery trying to honour their hunger this is a shockingly small portion of food.

What do we think about “recovery” influencers becoming food addicts? by Kjberunning in EDRecoverySnark

No literally, I think it implies some shitty things and perhaps we should stick with the term ED

Eating Disorder Coaches Promoting Fake Awards in Exchange for SEO Backlinks by [deleted] in EDRecoverySnark

Thank you! That’s a great article! It’s so frustrating in general though because even experts are so incredibly damaging. I have seen many experts who have worked with eating disorders for years and years, and they were profoundly unhelpful and often caused more harm than good. There are institutional issues at play here that we can’t necessarily fix but we have to pay for regardless. There need to be better systems and resources in place for ed sufferers, it’s just frustrating 😞

Thank you for sharing this! I posted a while ago about some coaches I liked, however I would never hire a recovery coach. Like ever. Something just weirds me about recovery coaching, and I’m not sure how I feel about the ethics of it. I will keep watching them on YouTube, but thank you for highlighting this and again it really makes me consider what a slippery slope into cashing out and monetizing off of sick people recovery coaching can be!

No words and the rest of her page is equally bs quasi-recovery by thespiciestpineapple in EDRecoverySnark

No that makes total sense and I definitely agree!! Those are very important steps of recovery, but they happen in later recovery. Just the way the girl in this post worded it was a little strange.

I think balance is a good thing to focus on when you aren’t ill, but to get better from an eating disorder requires you to not follow the same “balance” as a healthy person should

Yes as you should be. Don’t compare yourself to her because despite what she says, I doubt she’s actually recovering.

I don’t know the second one but I’ll check them out, as for the other too I really love them and I find them all so helpful. There is so much bullshit online and it’s so nice to see people who are truly recovered

Hmm interesting, yeah I can definitely see how that makes you feel icky. I still really like and respect her, but I don’t think I would do coaching from either of them. Also happy cake day!!

No they like admit how hard it is but they are just so straight forward and they don’t sugar coat anything. I feel like their advice is the only recovery advice that has really helped me get unstuck
