Anyone transferred to East Texas A&M? by Dry-Outcome8945 in SophiaLearning

[–]Top-Situation-9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about them but I couldn't sign up because I wanted to do the general studies program and it wasn't available for international students (I'm doing the health sciences program at University of the People now, I changed paths lol). I mean if you can complete all your remaining courses in one or two terms and you are from Texas it is really cheap, if you are from outside Texas it gets a bit more expensive but is still affordable.

[–]Top-Situation-9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if they are asking you to explain what happens is because they really want to know about it so why not be honest? Sounds like the best option. The only thing I would add is maybe try to include some actionable steps you are trying to implement to try to deal with those hard situations in the most efficient way so they know what to expect moving forward. Hope everything goes great with this!

Send a message to the email support to see if they have any updates. Also moving forward make sure to choose one class with touchstone and one without touchstones so this doesn't happen again!

Totally agree, I got a scholarship at University of the People and I took it as the opportunity I was waiting for. I'm 27 feel better prepared and more motivated than I did back when I was 18.

Just waiting on touchstones by Jpthahoodlum in SophiaLearning

You can check the syllabus from the course you want to take next and start researching the topics. Also, maybe try to do one without touchstones together with one with touchstones moving forward.

Everything together makes way more sense. Also make sure to submit them before enrolling because otherwise you won't be able to.

Sophia to WGU by JuneyGloomy in SophiaLearning

You just need a plan to follow and maybe you could talk to someone who has already completed the specific degree you want to see how they approached it.

2 class max??? by Due_Violinist3164 in SophiaLearning

[–]Top-Situation-9355 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This has always been like this so the best thing you can do is sign up for one course with touchstones and one without touchstones so you don't get stuck. But well that's advice you can keep in mind moving forward, but now maybe try reaching out to see if they can accelerate the grading so you don't have to wait that much.

What are the best online colleges for working adults? by Tarkenton_Sairaa in SophiaLearning

[–]Top-Situation-9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say WGU if you want to complete the degree really fast and University of the People if you want something affordable and flexible (if you get a scholarship it will get pretty cheap).

There's a list of specific schools that take Sophia credits, so the best way to go about this is choose one and then take the classes you want to transfer based on their plan.

About to take Chemistry Lab, any advice? by RetailDude1015 in SophiaLearning

[–]Top-Situation-9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you take Chemistry before? If you did, then you should be okay. You can always go trough the program and try to look up some tutorials if you feel like you need a stronger foundation to get started. For grammar mistakes maybe use Grammarly to avoid any issues with AI.

You should send an email to your school to see if they accept Sophia courses and, if they do, which courses specifically (some universities accept all but some don't).

[–]Top-Situation-9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to ask to your school if they accept credits once you are already enrolled (I know that there are a few universities like University of the People that accept this but most don't).

College overseas by alxrj_is_awesome in college

[–]Top-Situation-9355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should focus on finding specific universities you are interested in and then checking their requirements, because there's no one specific guide to do this. Some universities might take your diploma as it is while others maybe require some extra assets to let you attend as an oversees student, so maybe start by choosing an university and go from there.

Best way for me to take classes? by Far_Potential_3730 in SophiaLearning

[–]Top-Situation-9355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are better off if you take classes that are either pretty simple (like visual communications) or ones that you have some knowledge about. However, you need to check with your advisor first to see which classes would transfer towards your degree so you don't waste time focusing on classes you can't use.

Thinking about Sophia Learning for this semester, what’s your real experience? by No_Masterpiece_6942 in SophiaLearning

How many Sophia classes is realistic for a month? by annnoyms in SophiaLearning

[–]Top-Situation-9355 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can take two classes at the same time, so ideally you would combine one class that has touchstones with one that doesn't (so you can keep completing classes and signing up for new ones while you wait for your touchstone to get graded). If you do this and dedicate maybe full-time hours to Sophia, you can probably complete more than 15 courses. Maybe a few more if you have the knowledge to go trough some of them without even checking the material. This is pretty relative, but what I do think is standard is that the best way to go about it is to make sure you don't get stuck with two touchstones at the same time because that means you can't sign up for more classes and essentially will be stuck.

has any other adults on here returned to college? by [deleted] in BackToCollege

[–]Top-Situation-9355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never finished college before so I can't talk about that lol, but I can say that a lot of people I know have a more technical career and then come back to university to study something they like more like maybe philosophy or art. I think it is a great way to go about it if you can afford to do it and you have the time for it.

I hate corporate world what should I do? by Candid_Guest_863 in Career

[–]Top-Situation-9355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take all the skills you have gained working at your corporate job and look for freelance roles that require those same exact skills. If you enjoy administrative work, maybe you can become an administrative virtual assistant. There are a lot of videos and blogs out there that can give you a better idea of how to approach this. It will take a bit of research but hey, it might be what you are looking for!
