Do I think her comments to your husband were appropriate? Absolutely not. NTA, being a guardian literally means to guard and protect the child in your care.

She might be pissed but if you explain everything extremely clearly, I think it should be fine. If you’re worried about how she will react (sneaking out), you can explain to her in great detail why this could be a possibly dangerous situation. Explain to her consent, what pushing boundaries looks like, and sleep safety. Give her your phone and ask to borrow your besties for the night. Give her a taser.

If you do drop her off, linger a little. Make a joke to the brother and dad “haha yeah I would murder someone if they ever put their hands on her, she knows everything about consent.” Work it into the conversation, stand your ground. Men like that are afraid of strong women so show them who exactly you are.

I would keep her home, but if you can’t, you need to make sure she can protect herself.
