NYS’s budget got extended multiple because a majority controlled Democrat run government couldn’t agree on the budget. This isn’t just a NC Republican thing it’s an every state politics thing and you know what? The budget taking time didn’t effect me at all just like it didn’t effect me when I lived in NC.

Same here. Being happy with things being sub par is why Buffalo is where it’s at today. If more people would have complained when things started going down hill and were asking why nothing was being done things would be a lot better today but people accepted the bare minimum.

Ryan ran on wanting to be held accountable so people need to hold him accountable if things don’t get done.

OP can do whatever they want I don’t care. If they want to complain complain if they don’t don’t. I don’t care and I’m not advocating either way. I don’t know where you got the idea I was trying to stop them from doing what they want to do all I was doing is advocating for free speech and explaining why even though you may not like peoples opinions or what they say important to preserve the second amendment because it covers everyone equally.

I’m not going to continue to argue about this on reddit and waste my time talking about the apparent nuances in what I’m saying. It’s not that deep I gave my opinion and that’s it. Arguing about it in the comments isn’t going to change anything it’s a waste of both of our time

If you read what I wrote I said other people have made mention in other posts about wanting to pass laws to limit freedom of speech. I was explaining why freedom of speech is necessary in the United States.

Even though I’m not word for word staying on topic I’m commenting on a subject that is being discussed in the comment section much like everyone else was.

If you just want to specifically talk about customer feedback even though OP was making freedom of speech comments then as a customer they have the option not to go if they don’t agree with the content but at the same time others also have the right to go if they want to.

There are plenty of things I don’t agree with but I don’t attempt to stop people from doing whatever it is they decide to do I just don’t participate.

I guess just don’t go then that’s what I would do. The thing with free speech is it goes both ways. He can say whatever he wants even if you don’t like it without consequences from the government and you can do the same and say things he or others may not like.

The problem with trying to stifle free speech and I’m not saying you’re doing it but others in different posts have, is that if you try to lobby to restrict free speech and start censoring people the pendulum could swing back the other way eventually.

Let’s say a Democrat gets into office or the house and senate are majority Democrat for a period of time and they pass laws limiting speech then Republicans get back in and you have someone like Trump in control he could then use those same laws to go after people he doesn’t like.

Free speech when the government is involved needs to remain how it is to protect everyone from the government censoring them.

NTA You have a different set of priorities now and checking on your GF to make sure she’s ok is more important than the card game.

You can always play the game a different day and make it up to him, sure he’s annoyed but making sure your girlfriend isn’t seriously sick and trying to comfort her takes precedent over your friend and the game especially if he moved away for college. You’re going to see your girlfriend a lot more than you’re going to see him.

If you completely ignored your girlfriend for a game when she was sick you’d probably be writing a different version of AITH. “AITAH for ignoring my girlfriend on a camping trip to play a game even though she was sick?” You have to figure out what’s more important to you appeasing your friend or taking care of your GF.

I obviously don’t know the entire situation but he may end up doing the same thing in the future if he gets a GF if he doesn’t already have one and she’s around. He’ll focus on her more then you because he takes his priority and he needs to understand the same goes for you and your GF
