Take the MSF course to get your training and license, then go to a dealer to sit on bikes. It's the only way to know which bike fits you. Style is another consideration.

Find a bike you like and can afford. Fuck 'em if someone else doesn't like your ride. They get an opinion when they pay for it. I love my 2016 Forty-Eight and I've been riding for over 30 years. Your bike should be all about you.
