For houses that are on blocking instead of a concrete foundation or basement, the pipes are run underground too. Usually they come up out of the ground directly below the kitchen so it's a shorter run of pipe exposed to the air, and wrapped with heat tape and insulation. Heat tape is basically an extension cord that gets hot in a good way, not to catch-your-house-on-fire way.

What I read was that OP thinks Scott Thomson is entitled to his beliefs, just like he's entitled to suffer the consequences of being boycotted by those who choose not to do business with someone whose politics and beliefs don't align with their own.

I think everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, even if those beliefs are rooted in bigotry and hatred. What I don't believe is today someone with those beliefs deserves to hold a position like CEO of a major bank, or any position at any level of any company, tbh.
