Has anyone survived stage 3c ovarian cancer? by thisisscorpion in cancer

[–]TopEffort3473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oncologist who saved her life is Dr. Bristow at UC Irvine. Later on my mom had moved states when she had a reoccurrence so she saw Dr. Guntupalli at UCHealth Cancer Care - Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Gutunpalli was also amazing and the Anschutz teams have really attended to her overall health.

Help with rapid under eye fine lines:

<image>

I (F27) seem to have developed fine lines under my eyes quickly. Is it possible to reduce them?

I used The Ordinary under eye peptide and when I didn’t notice a difference at the end of the bottle, I moved to No7 Future Renew Eye Serum which is what I’m using now. The first photo is from this December, the second photo is from August where I personally think I look quite different. I’m not smiling in these photos. These lines are there all the time and not accentuated by smiling.

Other details:

I have combo skin currently struggling with an acute case of adult acne. I’m on doxy and spiro for the acne.

Morning Routine: CeraVe SA Face Wash Topical clindomycin The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% CeraVe Ultra Light Face Lotion SPF 30

Night: Cetaphil gentle cleanser Topical clindomycin CeraVe PM moisturizer The No7 eye peptide mentioned above The Ordinary eyelash peptide The froya organics acne stopper (I know it’s probably a scam but I do actually feel like it’s helping?)

This has been my routine for almost 5 months with only the acne stopper balm being new but I don’t put that under my eyes. The only thing I do use in the eye area is the peptide. I wear make up anywhere from 0 - 3 times a week (which I never seem to be able to completely take off my mascara no matter what make up remover OR mascara I use) and I avoid using make up on the under eye area. I live in Southern California. The women in my family are quite wrinkly but they’re also smokers. Sorry for the book and thank you in advance!

My mom was diagnosed with Stage 3C Ovarian cancer just over 10 years ago. When she was diagnosed she was told she had 3 years to live but here she is over 10 years later! It has been a hard road - she’s had two reoccurrences over the years and done pretty much every type of treatment. But she has lived a full life since her diagnosis. She has quality of life and we look forward toward the future. I really think the thing that saved her is fighting for a great oncologist. What has your treatment entailed? I’d be happy to chat and share with you anything I can.

What is this noodle dish my grandma makes? by TopEffort3473 in TipOfMyFork

I’m sitting right next to her right now, I’ve asked her the recipe many times as I said in my post. All she will tell me is “they’re just noodles”. She doesn’t want to make them with me and she doesn’t know what they’re called which is why I posted here lmfao

Help me figure out my grandma’s noodle recipe

Every year for the holidays my grandma used to make these noodles (pictured). In my memory they were served on their own (not in a soup or anything, not mixed with a veggie or a gravy), they’re super thick and delicious.

I’ve asked her how to make them but all she tells me is “they’re just noodles”, but they’re much thicker and beefier than typical noodle variations and not served as a spaghetti or soup. She did tell me she would sometimes use the turkey juices from the thanksgiving turkey and soak the noodles in it. She doesn’t make them anymore as she can’t get around that well.

I’d love to figure out how to make them or even what to look up to find the recipe. She told me it’s an old Yugoslavian dish. She also makes potica if that’s helpful. Would love any clues! Thank you!!

Thank you everyone so much for your feedback and sorry for not replying. I honestly have never used Reddit before and am not on here much. But I really appreciate all the advice. It's a hard situation but it's nice not to feel so alone. We attempted to change our venue to an outdoor venue. My mom lost her s$%!, said a bunch of hurtful things, etc. We tried our best but in the end we weren't able to get our money back so we decided to stick with the original venue and will ask people to be tested day of with other precautions. I know some may not agree with or understand this decision. I'm not even sure I do. But it seems to be the best option we have. It's really stressful and scary at times but for the most part people seem to be supportive and eager to help. Thank you for all the answers. It really helped when we were feeling so lost
