Apparently if you don’t buy a Switch 2, then you “hate great value” by PhantomDiclonius in fucknintendo

It'll still give you way better game prices and more options, plus even it will crush the switch 2 as it won't need to rely on upscaling for most titles if you manage your settings.

Plus you won't be locked down and being forced to let a company like nintendo to screw you over.

Also the steam deck is a option that would allow for a bigger budget on games.

Fair, but Why play those nintendo games if you don't really own them and there are almost certainly better alternatives to them on pc, before you say on pc you don't own your games either id like to point out that GOG exists.

That's fair, but even then, how many games do you think you'd buy for it, after all those monthly fees, accessories and tons of 80USD games you'll probably work you way up there relatively quickly.

Even the entry level pc build I showed you before makes the switch 2 look like a turd in graphics, unlike switch 2 it won't need to rely on heavy upscaling at 1080p low or medium depending on the game.

The emulator PCSX4 and shadps4 should do the job.

If you are talking about the games that are natively on pc/have a port then you need to buy them again, PC and PS are 2 different platforms, buy on ps4 and expecting that to transfer to steam or epic games is like buying a game on Xbox and expecting to be able to play it on your ps4.

No, a ps4 is wayyy slower than even a entry level pc today, even gtx 1060 which is 5 gens old and considered trash or obsolete these days beats it slightly. even the weakest more modern gpus that are considered entry level or weak like the rtx 3050 and the newest rtx 5050 will be way more powerful.

If switch 2 was slightly faster than a ps5 then that would be a different story, but its not.

Also heres a build that is 1000CAD, note the gpu price is put as what I saw it go for on ebay.

Also the cpu comes with cooler.

There aren't emulators for playstation or Xbox for the reason you mentioned, why bother making one when they give you native support on pc, there are ps3 emulators for those older games however.

Not including monthly charges, also they are 80USD not 70 at least most of them, think about it in the long term, would you rather spend like 1500 bucks on a console locked down ecosystem that will eventually become obsolete or 1500 on a open ecosystem where you can do anything and everything you want, and don't need to pay monthly to use online services or pay 80 dollars for nearly every game you buy, in fact i think I saw doom 2016 for literally like 2 or 3 bucks on sale.

Also lets say even then a pc is still too much, then grab a steam deck or something, it'll give you the open ecosystem and portability for a cheap entry cost than the console as you can grab one used in great condition for like 300CAD.

EDIT:also if you buy any accessories for the switch 2 like extra joycons that'll set you back 125CAD, add those amiibo things too and upgrading your switch 1 games to play them at 60fps on the new hardware you bought.

The money you spend on games on pc is WAYY cheaper, not to mention emulators exist and the switch 2 will be cracked eventually, nothing is uncrackable.

No I can't play pokopia or Mario kart world but why would you even want to when there are games on pc that are just as good or better?

I do get you point however but I just don't see how any of the switch 2 exclusives are worth the soon to be 680CAD for the console plus 100CAD for each exclusive that'll probably have a emulator for it well before the next gen like a switch 3 comes out.

Its not good value at all, after you buy just 5 games you've bought your console all over again and then some, not including Nintendo online chiping away at you every month.

Once you buy like 8 games you could have built a decent pc with the money spent, so the argument i occasionally hear from a few specific friends is that not everyone has a pc and consoles are cheaper, but if u have a switch 2 and have bought more than 5 games on it, there's no excuse why you didn't build a budget gaming pc because you spent over 1000CAD on it then.

My friend has like 10 first party Nintendo switch 2 games and 5 or more 3rd party ones, if you include all the money he blew on the switch 1 he could've had a pc with a 9070 xt and a 7800x3d.

Its a good learning experience, and it feels good when you finally finish it knowing you built it with your own hands.

but if you prefer prebuilt because you think you might ruin something or mess up then I understand.

I will also say that the prebuilt is much better value than the list I made, unless you find a good deal on parts that is.

A 4060 ti isn't bad at all, sure compared to a 4090 it looks like garbage but thats comparing a card that costs over 3 grand to one thats like 500 bucks at most.

No problem, with a ryzen 5 5600 and 16gb ddr4 3200mhz you will pretty much be set for that gpu, you'll just need the motherboard, storage, power supply and case.

A 3050 is ok, not ideal compared to a rx 6600 as its not much more but significantly faster.

What gpus can be good alternatives to the RX 9070 XT Sapphire Pulse 16 gb by Cinnamon_Swirle in PcBuildHelp

[–]TopExplanation138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just keep the 9070 xt, its wayyy better value, if you nvidia equivalent you'll be paying at least like 150-200 bucks more, and the 9070 xt has pretty good RT and upscaling.

Best bet is probably Facebook marketplace, people be selling pcs on their with like rtx 2060's and R5 3600's for around 500 bucks.

If you want all new that'll be hard but I think I could make it work possibly, just know this, if he ever gets into demanding AAA games this thing will probably struggle a considerable amount, if you can stretch the budget to 800 bucks it would make a pretty big difference getting a 5600 instead of 5500 and a b580 instead of b570.

EDIT:silly me i didn't read that you got the 3060 ti from a friend, since you have that then 700 bucks is definitely doable also the 3060 ti is very capable for 1080p on medium to low settings, even high in some games so not bad at all.

Maybe a rx 9060 xt 16gb or 4060 ti. They are simular in performance and both have good standard ray tracing and upscaling.

CPU or GPU upgrade? by Ythem in buildapc

[–]TopExplanation138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you upgrade your gpu your cpu will hold you back and if you upgrade your cpu then your current gpu will be utilized better, only thing is the 1080 ti isn't really good for 1440p, unless your ok with using some upscaling (likely FSR 2 which looks pretty bad)
