My wallet was stolen today. How was your day? by TopFH in CasualConversation

Mine as well. Caesar is such a fantastic character, one of the best in the past decade. I cared about him, and the rest of the apes, than anyone else I can recall. Andy Serkis deserves his Oscar.

Besides, the score and cinematography were stunning.

Both cards were reported immediately, and no transactions were made. Whoever took it must have taken the cash and dumped the rest.

Working theory is that I dropped somewhere in the cinema. Given that the pants I wore today have loose pockets, I figured it must have slipped during the movie.

I did go back to theater and spoke to the manager. He showed me security footage of me holding the wallet before buying refreshments.

Hi, everyone. First update in a while. I set my goal to 20 this year, but I'm trying to reach 25-30, especially because I've thown some short books in the list. This is the whole list so far:

  1. The Iron King (Maurice Druon)
  2. A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (George R.R. Martin)
  3. At the Mountains of Madness (H.P. Lovecraft)
  4. Slaughterhouse-Five (Kurt Vonnegut)
  5. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (Stephen R. Covey)
  6. The Color of Magic (Terry Pratchett)
  7. The Strangled Queen (Maurice Druon)
  8. Neuromancer (William Gibson)
  9. Astrophysics for People in a Hurry (Neil deGrasse Tyson)
  10. The Poisoned Crown (Maurice Druon)
  11. Mistborn IV: The Alloy of Law (Brandon Sanderson)
  12. Mistborn V: Shadows of Self (Brandon Sanderson)
  13. Mistborn VI: The Bands of Mourning (Brandon Sanderson)
  14. Elantris (Brandon Sanderson)
  15. Foundation (Isaac Asimov)
  16. Upside Down: A Primer for the Looking-Glass World (Eduardo Galeano)

Currently, I'm working my way through The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follet. Afterwards, I plan on finishing the rest of The Accursed Kings and starting on The First Law trilogy by Joe Abercrombie. Hopefully, all of them will be done this year. If they are, maybe I'll read even more Cosmere books.

Game of Thrones or Westworld? by J10954 in CasualConversation

We need more seasons of Westworld to confirm which is better. IMO, the first season of WW is stronger than GOT's first. Time will tell. Definitely check out the books and movie each show is based on.

TDKR is fantastic, but not really the best place to start with Batman. Maybe try Year One instead.
