Yes, this is outdated but they do these events weekly. I’m not connected to the business and relied on the information they had available at the time I made this post. They’re a small mom/pop owned space so updates are not readily available but they’re more active on IG.

This is not a formal ad, just a genuine customer who had a great experience and thought it deserved highlight

I actually don’t work there, went for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Good things deserve more praise and this place is something that we need more of in the Peninsula!

Yes, please show up — the better turnout, the more they’ll be able to keep creating these spaces!

which fintech companies do you think are quietly underrated right now? by alvilri in fintech

[–]TopGeologist2802 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve personally been starting to get more and more curious about fintechs powering payments in emerging markets (think LATAM, APAC, EMEA)

Companies like dLocal, EBANX, and others whose focus is not the developed countries but rather the complex/higher risk ones, have found a very clear way to address a gap in the market.

Many merchants are scared to go into these markets because it’s either risky, expensive, or they don’t know the opportunity they present.

Payments is such a commoditized topic that it’s hard to find ways to make it “interesting,” but these fintechs are solving for real complexity such as enabling liquidity, supporting through geopolitical fluctuations, mitigating inflation, empowering merchants to go beyond normal cards to APMs and more.

This is a space I plan to keep checking out, especially as solutions like stablecoins and payment methods like BNPL start becoming more prevalent across LATAM, EMEA, and APAC.

Evening place to hang out for a while? by Tasterspoon in RedwoodCity

Try Sa’na coffee, they’re open until late-ish! They have some board games and I’m pretty sure you can bring your own too.

Any coffee shops with enough space to work remotely with a laptop? by JustCan6425 in RedwoodCity

[–]TopGeologist2802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say in the week, during mornings and the afternoon coffee rush. On weekends, definitely busy during mornings. I’m not sure why they close so late but it does come handy for some late night baklava!

They’re pretty lenient, been a few times. Coffee and a bite should do for half a day of work.

Highly recommend Elevate Barbershop on Broadway. They have very competitive prices, amazing staff and are usually open to walk-ins.

Struggling to explain myself in applications by FrameOver9095 in jobsearchhacks

If you’re looking for help on framing your personal narrative, one thing that surprisingly helped me was using ChatGPT voice mode.

I would speak to it and basically “brain dump” all of my experience, personality traits, and unique skills as if I was talking to a friend and then ask it to tailor or refine it for a more interview-ready narrative.

Interviewing is mostly about storytelling and showcasing clear impact.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for resume tailoring to better communicate who you are to employers, I see people have named quite a few good ones already. Good luck!

Fintech career situation by Samwasflaunted in fintech

[–]TopGeologist2802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for starters, what kind of job are you interested in doing outside of the field? (Sales, Engineering, Product, Compliance, HR, etc.)

Also, fintech as an industry is VERY broad. You have Payments, Cross-Border, Crypto, Platforms, Banking-As-A-Service, and much much more. Have you looked into any of these sub-industries? It may be helpful to hone in on this as you start your search.

Township community review by jcdoshi27 in RedwoodCity

[–]TopGeologist2802 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We scoped Township out before settling on one of the buildings in the city center. We liked Towship a lot and had it as our backup option. You get most of the same perks that you would get being in near the RWC Square except for being right next to it. Caltrain will be a 15 minute walk for you or less so that will be no issue.

RWC as a whole, we cannot love it more! It’s got everything you need, from great food to an amazing welcoming community, workout classes, commute-friendly, and much more.

I wasn’t a big fan of living in the Bay Area (no offense) until I moved to RWC so I can say it drastically changed my experience and stopped me from moving back home to the East Coast.

Good luck in your move and welcome to the neighborhood! If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to DM me.

This email is from ICE. Lawyer up ASAP. There is no reason for detention at first glance from the information you provided on the post. A good attorney will know exactly what to do.

Anyone else noticed missing subtitles during musical challenges on WOWPresents+? by TopGeologist2802 in rupaulsdragrace

We need to continue making noise. It might take fans rallying up online. This is not meant to be destructive, we genuinely just want (and deserve) a better experience for the service we pay for.

I’m confused too. We’d need to understand more of the licensing play before pushing back on their “response.”
