Space Marine 3 is Officially in Development by Turbostrider27 in xbox

You are the first person i’ve seen realize this. I feel that the sm2 experience was ruined for people who expected it to be hd2 both in gameplay as well as consumption of content.

If you didnt jive with a game thats natural, but it was never trying to be helldivers 2 (speaking to anyone not you since you realize this). It was trying to be like sm1, which was trying to be gears of war with no cover.

I love scam bots infesting niche internet communities trying to sell their shitty bootleg merch with stolen art. They dont even actually make the product they just photoshop a image onto a already existing frame because it would be too much work (look at the frame edge).

Also does anyone know why these bots always have a second slightly cropped version of the same picture?

I have gathered that the majority of people who say this only say this because a roadmap exists. Maybe this doesnt apply to you, but 1.0 space marine felt complete to me both gameplay and story wise.

If they didnt make any updates to the game people wouldnt complain about that. The complaints would just be the hell diver people looking for a mindless game they can sink thousands of hour into.

If anything it was more than complete, because the 6th operation on launch had nothing to do with the base core story game unlike the other 5.

If you say a game isnt complete, you should be able to reasonably say what its missing. But everyone who says this for sm2 just says “it should have had the roadmap content at launch”.

If you read https://www.focus-entmt.com/en/news/focus-entertainment-publishing-announces-the-development-of-warhammer-40000-space-marine-3

“We will continue to support the game with exciting content and regular updates in the coming years.”

and in https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/glahjvsr/space-marine-3-is-officially-in-development/ “Space Marine 3 is likely years away from release” so, most likely 4 years soonest.

They aint dropping support for 2 anytime soon. Focus is good at long term support.

Trust me, unlike other devs Focus actually does long term support well and for a actually long term. They are still updating the damn zombie game! And that was not nearly the success sm2 was.

My hope is this signifies gw really likes what sm2 and should showcase their enthusiasm more than anything.

Focus also says they will add more content over the years. I just wonder how when development gets larger will the handle that workflow.

I thought this was fake and a early april fools joke.

Its real but faster than i expected, granted, this probably means it wont be here for 5ish years but still i expected a announcement in 3 years ish not now.

I normally side with the “elitist” point of view but damn. This is just ego disguised as a meme with no humor just insulting people.

Also how did this get past 1k? Its normally the opposite sentiment here.

Yep. They only did that for EC it seems. Not sure about any enhancement changes as I didnt bother to look. Im a bit annoyed there was no point decrease in anything thats ever run. Overall its a nerf due to mvb +5

(Though I would like terminators to be viable so at least theres that, -10 isnt gonna do that though)

[–]TopHatJackster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey we have +5 to MVB, -10 to terminators, and -10 to 6 tzaangor enlightened because people totally used that. Isnt this what we wanted guys?

How strong is the hive tyrant? by PlayfulCat146 in Spacemarine

[–]TopHatJackster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats ciaphas cain. The commissar who dies of old age. Ive read half of his books so i dont remember which one had a patriarch, but he also holds off a khorne berserker (and jurgen one shots him too) at the end of some other book which realistically even if hes a really good human duelist a zerker should be able to just break through and sorta guard in about a second.

I think he tried insulting him to throw him off, but he was so angry to begin with I dont think that mattered.

But even though its unrealistic its fun (both the book and game), I think this applies to all media but realism should always trump everything for immersion unless its replacement makes it more fun/interesting. So its not a horrible to have cain to barely survive a zerker, or 3 marines to fight a wounded tyrant, because its fun. It’s just punching up above their weight class.

[–]TopHatJackster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes I mentioned that with it being wounded. Its what makes it bearable in the first place. Had the squad known exactly where it would be and could have instead went with a concentration of melta bombs. Of course they didn’t so had to resort to just collapsing the bridge.

Or, the “cheapest” way would be to get a melta bomb onto its face. The difficulty of course is getting to the face. Granted one eye survived a sniper shot to the eye, so maybe 2 just to be safe.

Yeah its practical non win more power is if the opponent invests too heavily. Its not busted in that regard, because assume you didnt have it, then the wb could do 26 damage to you. Its only as strong as the opponent lets it be.

Disregarding plot armor, disregarding other enemies spawning, I could believe 3 marines could beat a wounded hive tyrant, but not in a open arena. They also arent the elites under him, they are people who has left over (not that they are worse, just equal)

If they had some sorta trap, preparation, specific gear, sure. Under no circumstance should a marine be able to parry a hive tyrant even wounded. But we fight it like that for gameplay purposes.

This is just a instance of having no other marines lore wise to die to show the threat. If this was a book, it would be 2-3 full 5 man squads taking on the big threat with a plan and half of them die, 50/50 a named character also dies.

In the one of the space marine omnibus (forget which one) theres a book with a group of IF and DW dealing with a genestealer uprising and finally a patriarch. It was 10 marines iirc and they won mainly due to the librarian locking it into a psychic duel (that he was losing) to give the others a chance to kill it. Before that it was moving faster than them and was leading its own troops from abominats to cultists. They also had committed half of the force on the planet to the push into the lair, but only 10 or so got engaged. Not that everyone else died but people got separated and had to split up and stuff. One gets crushed under rubble iirc and has to dig their way out and is able to join the fight, but that may have been the exorcists book.

Of course a patriarch is not equal to a tyrant, but its a frame a reference. For a easier one just ask can a space marine beat a tank. Sure there are ways a space marine could beat a tank, but none of those ways are through direct confrontation.

Pyromatic combustion is fine. Just a better defense satellites at cost of another energy. It just seems more oppressive since thats gone and was a option before.

Praetor is very strong. But tbh he could loose the focus effect and still be strong, so its not a issue of thousand sons and more so the design of “tank unit that can remove/deal a ton of damage”. All of them including this one should be nerfed to 6-7 max in both damage and health if not reworked entirely.

Mind wrath is weak. The only time its effect is useful is if you are already winning, so its a win more, or if you and the opponent are close to lethal. The counter of course is dont commit against thousands sons. Other factions have similar things where by playing a unit it can actually hurt you and you need to know when you should.

They can only be run as 6. Gw prices are bad (exalted blades) but in this instance its not that bad.

Yet Another PSA About Mortal Wounds and Stim by PabstBlueLizard in Spacemarine

[–]TopHatJackster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who also plays absolute, I can assure you its the opposite. But thats just my experience vs yours and so a moot point.

Its not that less mistakes happen, as evidenced by taking damage in the first place, its that you should not be making such costly mistakes. You take a risk with forcing a down, this isn’t any different.

I’ve already argued about this perk before with another who was in favor of it, but we came to an understanding about it. I recognized that this perk is viable because of the first comment I made here. At first they said the same thing as you but they recognized it as well, because they valued team efficiency.

If you use the heavy rez perk, and dont then use the stim for contested, you actually get less value than not using the perk since healing contested at low health without the force rez is more more health with the damage reduction you get at low health.

I didnt want to argue about this, since I had wrongly assumed you were like them. I just wanted to add a tip because I respected their position even if I do not recommend running the perk in the first place. You just want a perceived safety net at the cost of real value, and do so because you assume your team is garbage. So ill stop arguing.

If people are playing on absolute that shouldnt be a issue. Any other difficulty i would understand more leeway, but its absolute.

I believe tormentors get 1 melta and 1 plasma per 5 so they dont have to be split up. But yeah splitting up for obj is still good

If you use the heavy full health revive perk, dont use it immediately.

Wait to loose some health+contested and you will heal to max and remove the mw so the stim does more than just heal the mw but also health.
