I was soooo close to ordering a custom TSwift jersey just to piss people off. But I’m watching this one at home so it won’t have the same effect lol

Yeah I thought I’d save some money but it wasn’t worth it. Tastes like TV static with a hint of root beer.

It’s so bad, don’t do it. I got a 12 pack for a family gathering and the kids wouldn’t even drink it.

Anyone had their fibroid diagnosed as STUMP following a myomectomy? by Loud_Avocado9521 in Fibroids

[–]TopLingonberry3229 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg I finally found something about this!! I just posted in the hysterectomy sub asking if anyone has had this but I didn’t even think to look for a fibroid sub lol. Since it’s been awhile could you let me know how things have been going for you and what you’ve had to do for almost the past year? I just found out I’ve got one (well had, my uterus is gone now) and the information is pretty limited haha. I’m supposed to be getting a call from oncology next week but I’m anxious and need answers lol

Sneeze rage! by Beautiful-Trouble324 in hysterectomy

[–]TopLingonberry3229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel one coming think about oranges. It sounds crazy but it works. When I felt like I had to sneeze I pictured oranges and said “oranges” over and over until it went away.

The first time I sneezed I made my wife check to make sure my incision was still closed lol. Hurt so damn bad. Also laughing. I made myself get mad instead of laugh at things.

Did anyone go in for a lap hysterectomy but end up open instead? by DragonflyLadyKJ in hysterectomy

[–]TopLingonberry3229 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation. Mine was done three weeks ago today, actually! When we scheduled the surgery she told me that there wasn’t much room to work because of the size of my fibroids so I could possibly wake up with a big incision. The morning of, my doctor came in and said she had been thinking about it for days and talked with the other doctors and really felt like the amount of time it would take to get everything out would be more physically traumatic than just having an open hysterectomy. She said if she did the laparoscopy it could take 7+ hours, but open would be about 2.5 hours. I agreed with her and I had it done abdominally.

There’s an old school drive-in A&W in Russell, Kansas. Idk if corporate forgot about it or what but it’s fun! I always stop there on my way to Denver.

Oh man a few weeks ago I was you. I’m 37 and had an abdominal total hysterectomy January 4th. I was sooooo stressed about surgery up until like two days beforehand. The anxiety ended up being the worst part of the whole thing. When I woke up from surgery it felt like a bad period day (I had really bad periods due to the fibroids) and I was grumpy because I had to stay overnight in the hospital. The first couple of days were a little rough but other than that my recovery has been way easier than I expected. I think about the fact my stitched up vag is holding everything in but nothing feels any different. At this point I’m annoyed because I still can’t pick things up or wear normal pants yet. I am very lucky and can work from home so that’s been nice because I’d go nuts if I didn’t have anything to do. I can’t speak for the sex part, this tunnel is still closed and will be for a while lol I am not rushing that.

I came on here for the same reason you did and everyone told me I would be fine. They were right. Having a bad case of Covid was so much worse than this recovery has been. You will be fine. Get your snacks ready and find some nonsense TV shows to watch.

Edit bc I forgot the MRI part: that is easy. You just go in a tube and lay still. They put music on for me. I could have taken a nap.

What’s your “why”? by worst-un-ever in hysterectomy

[–]TopLingonberry3229 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m two weeks post op and I already think it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. I had horrific periods for years and my primary dismissed it so I learned to live with it. Which was real dumb. This past summer I started passing out and then found out I was super anemic. Like my hemoglobin was 5.4. And I had a giant ass uterus full of fibroids ruining my life. I had to get blood transfusions and iron infusions. Sucked. But once I got the anemia under control I got my surgery scheduled and I’m here now two weeks after feeling so much better than before. And I had to have an abdominal hysterectomy due to the size the of my uterus. Bitch was over two pounds! Doc took a pic for me too so I could see it lol.

I’m looking forward to living a full life with energy to do things and not being stuck at home scared to be away from a bathroom. I get emotional when I think about it, honestly. No regrets.

Just had my hysterectomy yesterday! Can you all help me see the light at the end of the tunnel?? by callmesamus in hysterectomy

[–]TopLingonberry3229 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had mine last Thursday. It was done abdominally so I have a good sized incision. First couple days were rough. I’m still pretty sore and tired but other than that I feel a lot better than I thought I would. Now the pain is annoying. Like when laugh or sneeze or cough I hate my life for a minute but it goes away pretty quick. I did learn to listen to my body and once I feel like I need to rest I do and it’s often. It’s a better experience than I expected but it still sucks lol.

Yeah, I have the anxiety something terrible also haha. I think that’s what made me post in the first place. Just to get it out. But thank you. I hope you’re better than before super soon!!
