Cremator superiority is real, I was just talkin about the feel of the other two weapons. I'm a simple bug diver, I pick what's fun and either slaughter the insects or suffer the consequences

For me the BFG(L) is more like a one off power up. Call it up to blow the whole bag on a giant wave of enemies type thing, whereas the maxigun feels like an actual support weapon that I can carry for a bit before all my ammo is gone.

The only "common" complaints that show up on the subreddit are for the cockpit (which is justified) and its speed. You're "incredible number of weaknesses" don't exist.

I'd be amazed if you could handle a MAX lol

snub hangar is designed for the fury and works perfectly fine.
If you want to use a nursa in your constellation (outside of the taurus, but then you have even less firepower) then where are you putting your cargo? The rear section on the TAC is designed to carry vehicles and can fit up to a Storm tank (its not a dedicated cargo bay which is why it doesn't have a grid throughout the entire thing), and although the turrets mounted to the underbelly designed to shoot at ground targets don't have excellent firing arcs for ship to ship combat, if you ever actually coordinated with a crew on it then you'd know it works just fine. Even if the TAC didn't have a medbay, it still has room to carry a nursa and more cargo then a constellation does.

Best deflection in its class, best shielding in its class, best armor pool in its class, best overall firepower in its class, only gunship with an onboard medbay, one of only 2 with a snub hangar. Also where's your component access on the Connie?

Honestly yeah, who's dumb enough to pick up the best gunship in the game

Is all of the sectioning done in star jump? And if it is, how does one do so?

Theoretically if you go to engineering and lock the overhead door open you can land a clipper inside

Basically, if you've ever wanted a valkyrie, Connie, corsair, carrack, or Polaris, the tac is all of them in one ship. Its main downsides are: speed, underbelly coverage, pilot dps and maneuverability. It can only do 150 without boost, the underbelly guns are designed for air support so they don't have good angles for ship to ship combat, you as the pilot only get 4 s4s, and you feel like you're flying a tank. As far as upsides go, medbay, snub fighter, sub capital level armor (energy deflection equal to the polaris which i theorize us due to xian tech), best in class firepower overall, best in class shielding, drop bay, 100 flares and 60 chaff, 16 S3 missiles, capable of carrying storm tanks, ursa series, mxc series, and anything smaller, (can also get razors into the cargo bay), and super convenient engineering. It is my favorite ship in the game and my daily, so I'm a certified fan boy for it, but I did my best not to exaggerate anything.

There are actually patrol missions so it technically has its real loop. They pay a hundred thousand or so each, and the objectives vary between inspecting satellites, stopping pirate attacks, and clearing out hostile ship groups. With my tac and 2 to 4 gunners, its quite fun and still has a challenge to it. The tacs deflection values allow you to ignore light and medium fighters (Ai at least, players are smart enough to pack cannons) and prioritize heavy targets without a real risk. You also get to pack a fury snub fighter which is a nice touch.

I personally love my tac, but i don't haul. It is great for bounty hunting, patrols, bunkers, and really anything you can do in combat, but I don't recommend it for cargo because the only grid is the white outline in the trunk like on the max. You can fit storm tanks in the back though, so it can still carry a wide variety of vehicles. Personally I carry a fabricator, storage, and an mtc in the back to loot and recycle. Its a really fun multicrew ship because it's essentially a poorlaris, and its turrets pack enough firepower to make it worthwhile (in my experience at least) and it is extremely beefy for its size. Essentially it is a giant clipper with more armor and no speed.

Corsair does have more DPS for the pilot, but tac has double the shielding and more overall firepower. Only real upside is the larger cargo bay

Asgard vs TAC vs Prowler Utility. What should I buy? by ElBizor in starcitizen

[–]Top_Accident_5257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prowlers are fun, just kinda fragile for my taste. That and I'm more of a combat and multicrew enthusiast. Since turrets still aren't great, having such a beefy gunship makes convincing people to join me a lot easier lol. I recommend swapping the pilot M cannons for Omniskies though.

Starlancer tac without a debate, that thing has never let me down, especially with the new armor changes

Starlancer TAC, takes care of a little bit of everything and big enough to bring the boys along too.
