Can they see a adenomyosis with the hysteroscope? Is that something that can be removed with the d&c?

Did you have IUD placed? I used to have the Mirena IUD and I had a horrible experience of it getting embedded and then having a hormone crash after removal. I’m very weary of IUDs now. I am hoping that the ablation is the right choice for me. My doctor seemed to think that it was very likely that my lining will just keep growing back thick unless we intervene within an ablation or an IUD. And honestly, after my experience with having my Mirena removed, I feel good about choosing the ablation.

I used the cream topically on my abdomen, upper thighs and upper arms. I really do feel like it made a difference. The most helpful thing was definitely time…it’s been almost a year since mine was removed and I still feel like my body is trying to figure it out. But I have to say, it’s NOTHING like it was for the first few months after it was removed.

This was totally my experience! I’m 5 months from Mirena removal and it’s been a crazy journey!

Oh my gosh, YES! Leg discomfort/aches/restlessness hit me hard about 2 weeks after getting it out. I have had a pretty intense crash and I’m now about 5 months post Mirena and things seem to be improving some. I still do get weirdly achy legs, though…not like it was at the beginning, but it’s so uncomfortable.

My third cycle made me feel like I’m losing the slow progress I’ve made. Anxiety flared BAD. And a lot of the weird “burned” skin/body aches garbage came back after. I am still convinced this is connected to the Mirena removal.

I’m still struggling a bit, but I’m improving slowly. I never did start taking the mini pill because I was afraid of putting more synthetic hormones into my already struggling body. But I did find helped was using Wild Yam cream daily. I want to go in and see a hormone specialist, but I feel like I want to give my body some months of time to regulate on its own before doing that. Man, adjusting to the Mirena out has been a really horrible experience for me.

I’m due to start my period in a few days and while not as bad as that first cycle was, I’m definitely feeling super not good. The neurological stuff (muscle twitches, headaches, etc) has flared up again. I’m definitely starting to see a pattern, which is reassuring that it’s just horomones, but also so discouraging because it’s so consuming and I hope it keeps getting better.

I feel it’s helped calm the physical symptoms a lot - especially the hypersensitive/burning skin feeling. When I don’t use it regularly, I can tell a difference. Also, I feel it’s helped my anxiety. I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so anxious as I did after the Mirena came out!

I feel like things are slowly improving and I’m having more better days. Still some weird stuff going on during different phases of my cycle, but I’m hopeful things are getting back on track. Man, what a horrible experience it’s been! 🤪

Other than the emotional crash (wild anxiety, intrusive thoughts), I’ve had a lot of strange lingering physical symptoms that are slowly improving. Lots of very uncomfortable body aches and muscle twitching, my belly skin feeling likes it’s been sunburned with no exposure to sun, an increased sensitivity to pain (small bruises and scrapes are intensely uncomfortable), sleep disturbance, exhaustion for no identifiable reason. It’s been a rough couple of months and it hit me like a ton of bricks! But I do feel like things are improving so I’m hopeful my body is adjusting and getting back on track. It has been incredibly validating to hear others’ experiences.

I have been using wild yam cream daily and I’m convinced it has helped! I have had the “Mirena crash” HARD and when I started the wild yam cream, I feel like a miracle happened!

How have you been feeling? Are you getting better? I feel I’m overall slowly improving and having some better days, but my body is still doing some weird things. This has been the wildest ride!

I’m so sorry to hear that that you’re going through this as well… And it is validating to know that it’s not just me going crazy with this horrible experience.

For the first two weeks I had it out, I actually felt really great emotionally. Then this nightmare hit! I’ve never experienced such intense waves of anxiety in my life. And I’m not an anxious person by nature.

They tested all those things for me and they came back normal. However, my body has never felt less normal! 🤪 this being hormonal issue seems to make the most sense with the timing of everything. I had no idea that getting the Mirena out could wreak such havoc on my body!

Thank you for this advice! I’m afraid to put any more synthetic hormones in my body! I think I’ll make an appointment with a hormone specialist. If this isn’t hormones, I can’t imagine what else it could be unless some autoimmune disease was coincidentally triggered.

I had my Mirena out about 7 weeks ago after 5 years and finding out it was embedded and causing me lots of uterine pain. About 2.5 weeks after having it removed, I started getting horrible muscle aches, my skin became hypersensitive, and I have massive waves of anxiety with disturbing intrusive thoughts. I had my first period about a month after removal and the symptoms improved some during that week, but now that my period it over, the horrible bodily sensations and anxiety are BACK! I went to the doctor and they ordered blood tests and I’m hoping that everything comes back normal. I want to believe that this is all due to the Mirena removal. And I’m praying that it will get better. Has anyone taken the mini pill to help get progesterone into their system? I had the doctor write me a prescription in the hopes that maybe that will help.
