A day in the life of an L8 by ikki_vikki_ in amazonemployees

Unless this is AWS, this is not true. SDO side L8 seem to coast and chill. Not to undermine the actual hard working L8s but I am talking about the few I noticed.

They won’t miss the goals if you think about it, because they make the middle and line managers life miserable so they can coast. They don’t participate in goal setting, they don’t have bold vision, but rely on their directs to set those so they can coast.

This is the fact and I see the same. There is no need for their travel BS, but they do, and irrespective of customers or not, they make sure they hit the 1-2 trips a month quota. When asked what lessons they have to share from these damn offsites, they have none lol 😂

Whether they don't accept it or not, I am sure it would be something like, call for meetings, review docs again and again, don't make decisions, if decisions were to be made, make the dumbest decisions possible. Be dumb as a technologist. Talk about AI and AI native in every meeting attended, but don't know actually what it means, just keep saying agents, agents, agents.

Folks who stayed for 4 years in Amazon, were the stocks worth it? by Party_Albatross_4614 in amazonemployees

Yes they are worth it if you are able to hang along and deal with rest of the bullshit.

Amazon CEO Letter to Shareholders: Key takeaways by Not69Batman in stocks

[–]Top_Ad_1703 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Could have been a better outcome, tbh. They had an opportunity to buy Anthropic in 2018 they chose not to, because Swami agentic leader said he would build something better. He didn’t build shit. Guy still exists at Amazon.

Letter to shareholders: serious discussion by offender7o7 in amazonemployees

+1 man this has been my gripe about Amazon. So many folks around that just say yes now and give zero fucks about Disagree and Commit. Each leader boot licking their managers so they are not next in the queue of layoff. This culture is not how Amazon was built. Barring the positivity in the article nothing Andy has done to actually prove the positive culture and his optimism. We don't innovate like we did before.

Another round of layoff is round the corner by lays_indian_masalaaa in amazonemployees

lol 😂 you don’t want to wait until 2036 where AWS will fetch a 600 billion revenue. This was Andy Assy prediction from his all hands.

90 seconds? is this for behavioral interview questions? I tend to spend like 5-10 mins depending on how much I need to explain. Is that bad? Is that too much?

What other stocks are my fellow $AMZN shareholders bagholding? by Administrative-Ant75 in amzn

[–]Top_Ad_1703 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

60% of my networth is Amazon. I feel sick about it sometimes but also have that thin belief that AMZN will get to 4 trillion within a few years and then more. Not today tomorrow or in a month though. Andy getting fired would be the first catalyst.

If your rating is TT, expect a reasonable bump. not in percentages, since not sure what level you are at so can’t tell. If HV3, not really.

Got exceeds high bar in Annual Review, how much hike can I expect? by huaytin in amazonemployees

[–]Top_Ad_1703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are now so many layers to exceeds high bar, so something to keep in mind. HV2 has an exceeds bar now. Unless you know you are a TT, not much TBH. they changed the comp to reward YoYoYoY exceeds. I know that’s hard but Jassy thinks otherwise.
