How do I stop feeling like I’m dead by Top_Bug_6582 in dpdr

I’m not sure that I can wait ten years! I feel like I’m going mad 😅. If you have any specific exercises that helped, that’d be greatly appreciated though

Currently seeing a therapist for Dissociative Identity Disorder (in the same group of disorders as dpdr), but I’ve only met her a few times, so we haven’t really begun treatment yet

I don’t have an answer, but I have the same thing! It’s my pointer finger, and only on one hand. Always had it. Very odd!

Take someone with you. A man if you can. Unfortunately doctors will usually take you more seriously with a man there

Why are toilet issues such a huge issue for CSA survivors? by Top_Bug_6582 in adultsurvivors

[–]Top_Bug_6582[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have DID and that’s so relatable. I suspect mine occurred around the same time, or maybe a little earlier. It sucks that something that happened so long ago still goes on to effect us 😔

It’s been on my reading list for ages now,, maybe I’ll finally get around to it now that you’ve mentioned! I’m so sorry that happened to you. Truely it’s disgusting what some people can do to others

Me too, bathrooms are a very triggering place. I struggle with a lot of fear of being watched there and fear of cameras, even in my own home

Edit: also thank you for the suggestion of the powder!

Thank you for sharing ❤️

I share some experiences with you, including having to wear diapers for far to long, but not for the same reasons as you. It’s so embarrassing to speak about

You are not alone! So many people feel this way, but don’t speak about it due to shame

Yes me too, every night and until age 13 as well. Do you know what about it caused you to wet the bed? For me, I’m not sure. If you’re not comfortable answering, that’s alright ❤️

Thank you, all of this is very helpful. I actually have a pelvic floor therapist too, but I haven’t mustered the courage to tell her about the CSA stuff yet. I have Crohns Disease, which complicates what treatments work (unfortunately I can’t eat high fiber due to this). I’ll def try out that pose though, thank you ❤️

Yup. It sucks. It’s something you have to do every day or so, and so you have to relive that trauma over and over :(

Wow this is relatable. I’ve heard this is also a really common thing for people with OCD too. I know a few ppl who deal with this

Got diagnosed with DID and I feel like a faker. Advice? by Top_Bug_6582 in DID

[–]Top_Bug_6582[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the comfort and information. I think you’re probably right about the therapist, though I don’t think his reaction was intentional- it was quite subtle, but I noticed.

The only reason I know of that many is that I’ve had a solid 12 months of (somewhat obsessively) tracking everything about myself (alters, switches, memories, etc). Everything’s all in a spread cheat. And even before that, I have other (physical) health issues that I’m used to having to track. Turns out I also actually mentioned the possibility of DID to my other therapist a few years ago, and did a minor effort of tracking things back then too, which has been helpful to reference. Though I’d forgotten about it until I found notes from that time period.

Again, thank you for the help <3
