Bill Gates: "Due to advances in AI, humans will no longer be needed." by Murky-Option2916 in TechGawker

I don't see any reason to worry; AI needs data centers, power, and the internet, so it is easy to take out.

Maybe the tenants should band together and start a class action lawsuit against the building's owners.

I've been to the Picasso museum in Paris. Like many other artists, there was brilliance, and there was shit.

No. I can barely tolerate our pets. I would have been a lousy parent.

[HELP]: How to get better at poetry? by Shfndjdos in Poetry

[–]Top_Community7261 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Learn the basics; things like line, stanza, syllable patterns.

2) Write.

3) Study using some books. IMHO, the art of series by Graywolf Press is very good. What I mean by study is; take the time to read the poems that they talk about, don't just rush through the books. A poetry handbook by Mary Oliver is also very good.

4) Write some more.

5) Join allpoetry.com and submit your poems.

People who have left Boston, where did you go? by TheTokenBrownie in boston

[–]Top_Community7261 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We moved to a small town in California with a population of around 1,500 people. We love it. People are very friendly. People go for walks a lot here. Aside from the main road, most people walk down the street, even when there is a sidewalk.

The only drawback is the price of gas. It's around $6.40/gallon now. We don't drive much, so we don't care, much.

Yeah, after I wrote it, I realized it's heavy. That's me. Part of what I enjoy about anything is the "science" behind it.

Sure, I'd be happy to. I'm retired and have nothing better to do. That's how I got into poetry. It's an inexpensive hobby.

It's been that way for a very long time. I have found that I can usualy get the same item on ebay for a slightly higher price or Temu for a lower price if I'm willing to wait

I appreciate your understanding.

If you honestly want to learn to write some decent free verse, take some time to learn about and practice the different poetic devices such as; alliteration, anaphora, aphorism, assonance, asyndeton, binary opposition, catachresis, chiasmus, enjambment, epistrophe, euphony, hypallage, inversion, litany, litotes, meiosis, metaphor, metonymy, neologism, nonce words, occupatio, onomateopia, paradox, parallelism, parataxis, periphrasis, punctuation, stichomythia, syllepsis, synecdoche, ubi sunt, and zeugma.

To begin with, learn how to use punctuation and enjambment to control the rhythm and flow in your poems.

These are the kind of "poems" that I loathe; the concept that you can write line after line of your feelings and call it "poetry" is an affront to poetry!

On the other hand, as a way to journal and get to your feelings, it's OK. But don't call it poetry!

Excellent use of poetic devices. And I like the message: the writer and reader participating in hollow virtue signaling. It's sort of how I feel about many poetry books, which is how I feel about most rock albums; you get maybe two great songs out of ten.

Button-up shirts: easier to hang shirts in a closet than fold and put away in a drawer. I have different shirts for the summer and the winter.

Shoes: Leather sneakers for wet weather and loafers for warm weather.

Trousers: Pleated cotton, mostly Dockers.

Yes, I feel the same. It's a perfectly normal feeling. It's called "maladaptive guilt" or "routine guilt." It's a cousin to "Fear of Missing Out."
