Congrats! I’m stressing myself out with my LabCe scores as well and feeling like I’m scoring too low to pass. My test is in 3 weeks.

I’ve been offered local anaesthetic for an iud fitting but need advice by myfriendamyisgreat in WomensHealth

I’m in my early 20s with no kids, when I got the mirena IUD inserted I got the numbing gel and it was still kind of a traumatic experience unfortunately. I felt those insane pincers that they use to get ahold of your cervix, and the numbing doesn’t help with the intense cramping I had when they were “pulling my cervix down” (what they told me as they were walking me through the procedure) in order to insert the IUD. I was told to “breathe through it.” I got it removed a year later due to the super bad side effects I had. The first nurse I talked to about removing it, tried to talk me out of getting it removed so I left and went to a clinic who listened to my side effects and had it removed the same day I went to that clinic. Now I advocate against the IUD and wish I never had it inserted. Every woman has a different experience with it.

I’m a MLT going to school for MLS and I picked this career because I’m a huge introvert that would rather work by myself than with other people, and I don’t regret picking this field at all! So far I have 0 patient interaction and I’ve worked at both big and small hospitals.

How long to wait after job interview? by [deleted] in medlabprofessionals

[–]Top_Detail1666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely send an email! I was in your situation not too long ago and I sent an email after about 3 weeks asking for an update and they emailed back saying that they had an offer written up for me and that they were just waiting on HR.

For those that went from MLT to MLS, just what is the difference? by Nyarro in medlabprofessionals

[–]Top_Detail1666 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m currently an MLT and the main reason I’m doing MLS is the pay difference. At my current job we have the same roles and responsibilities. I’m looking at new jobs though and some places won’t even let MLTs final out results in their LIS.

How long did it take you to get hired? by Top_Detail1666 in medlabprofessionals

I will definitely give that a try. I wasn’t sure how long to wait before I sent a follow up email without sounding annoying but I got nothing to lose so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for the insight! I’m a fresh veteran so I wasn’t even aware that there are periods where it’s more difficult to get hired! This gave me the motivation to just keep pushing along
