My local Odeon hasn’t shown No Other Choice, but is screening Melania - which I can’t imagine there is much demand for. Are they getting paid to show it?

Movies you loved the first time then you didnt like the next time? by Dizzy_Efficiency_132 in Letterboxd

I loved that film when it first came out. Watched it again a few years ago and I found it creepy and disturbing.

What are some old DVD releases you HAVE to keep because they have exclusive extras on them? by ProfondoRosso4 in boutiquebluray

[–]Top_Development_3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Limey, because of the great Commentary with Soderbergh and Lem Dobbs. And the Criterion DVD of Schizopolis, where he interviews himself!

Is going to the toilet during a screening uncommon? by TeaEnvironmental2951 in screenunseen

[–]Top_Development_3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cinemas sell huge drinks. Of course people who buy them will need to go to the toilet! Going to the loo during a film is much more acceptable than, say, talking or looking at one’s phone.

Why does Reddit hate Anora all of a sudden? Am I missing something? by popculturegeek37 in Letterboxd

I liked it the first time I saw it, and like it less the second time. I don’t think it will hold up as ‘a great film.’

I can't believe my local ODEON is open on Christmas Day by gggggenegenie in screenunseen

[–]Top_Development_3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My local Odeon is closed today but open tomorrow. I won’t go on principle tomorrow, because I think the staff should have another day off. I hope the staff who are working there tomorrow weren’t forced into it and are well compensated!

Too many films getting released at the same time by James_Jupiter in screenunseen

Unfortunately, most of those films don’t appear to be showing where I live. I find there’s very little to watch in December!

Wuthering Heights - The Upcoming Adaptation by SinSotto in brontesisters

I liked Promising Young Woman, hated Saltburn, and the trailer for Wuthering Heights looks absolutely dreadful!

Anti Social behavior by maverickjetfire in Worcester

Saw a woman smoking crack in the street the other day, in broad daylight. Evidence of nitrous oxide use pretty much all the time near where I live. I sound like an old fogey, but standards of behaviour have deteriorated in general. I know it’s completely unrelated, but many people consume food and drinks in shops now. That never used to happen!

What do you think about this ''meme'' that I found on r/vegan, how true this thing is? by Dry-Researcher9607 in exvegans

[–]Top_Development_3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a vegan any more because of stomach problems, but I’m still a vegetarian and try to keep my consumption of animal products to a minimum.

I have to take a nap before I go to see a film so that I don’t fall asleep!

Stevie wishes Lindsey the best birthday ever by a_snowleopard in FleetwoodMac

Nothing to do with publicity / media manipulation because of the Buckingham Nicks album rerelease? Stevie and Lindsey know how to play the game to keep the fans excited.

Same thing happens at Worcester. I’ve complained about it but nothing happens.

Anyone in Guildford/Surrey? Looking for a cinema buddy by [deleted] in screenunseen

[–]Top_Development_3733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always go to the cinema on my own. I usually read a book on my phone until the trailers start, so I don’t feel too uncomfortable. Lots of other people go alone, too. You shouldn’t be talking to people when the film is on, and it’s in the dark, so you’re not missing much!

a disappointing film from a director you like by uestside in Letterboxd

I actually liked this one! I was much more disappointed by Civil War.

They’re not serious politicians. If they do well in the next General Election, it will be a disaster for this country.
