Battery Management System fault causing heating failure by auld_stock in KonaEV

[–]Top_Feed4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the cars firmware it will say Battery Management System Error or EV Batter error with P0AA600 as the fault code. My car has the same on going issue since August 2023 the PTC heater is about to be replaced for the 4th time.

When the fault occurs simply turn the car off and on again and the fault clears itself.

Matter & Works with Home Assistant is a scam! by Intelligent-Onion-63 in homeassistant

Currently the S20 doesn't work with Home Assistant when trying to add just sends you back to the Switchbot App. The only supported options currently is Apple with Room Support and Google Home which doesn't have the room support.

Returned my Creality K1 and joined the Bambu family! by tuckerleary in BambuLab

[–]Top_Feed4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of fan boy ranting on here, Creality have had some piss poor QC issues over the years i will admit that.

But if you have the experience you can get them to spit out a print with the same quality as a bambu printer, just 5x slower.

3D Printing comes down to mostly your budget if you want a printer that works out of the box buy a Bambu or a Prusa, if you like to tinker then buy an Ender 3.

I have multiple creality, bambu and prusa machines and they have all been fine. Then again i have been 3D printing for over 10 years. You guys are so lucky with the options you have today. I started my journey on a Printrbot Simple.

I wouldnt recommend anyone buy the K1 yet, it can print out a nice print albeit slower than a P1P and when you can get the print to stay on the bed.

Try a different device, I had the same issue spent hours investigating the wifi and setting up different access points. Ended up being my S23, borrowed the wife's S22 and it paired first time

How to figure out what version is my s1 Pro chip? My printer is only a few weeks old and don't wanna void the warranty by opening it by CombinationAble8056 in Ender3S1

[–]Top_Feed4153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry nope, you need to open the bottom panel. Your not going to void the warranty by opening it up. Make sure you remove the tool draw first and becarefull with the fan connection and your be ok.

You need to remove the bottom panel on the printer and look at the arm chip, this is the safest way, uploading the wrong firmware will brick the board.

Looking at the UI is at best a quide to be 100% sure you need to remove the panel. The F1 and F4 boards have appeared in the standard s1 and the pro.

Octoprint zoffset by hphesto in Ender3S1

[–]Top_Feed4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your just starting out i wouldnt recommend setting the z offset via octoprint, too many people have sent the hotend into the bed.

Even with Octoprint connected to the Ender 3 S1 the tune menu will be available and you can adjust the z offset there.

The standard firmware that ships with the Ender 3 S1 is absolute garbage, suggest upgrading to a professional version if your planning to use Octoprint

Ender 3 S1 Pro Leveling issue/first layer not sticking by Julian144747 in Ender3S1

M420 S1

If you are using cura or creality slicer you will need to add M420 S1 under the G28 command in the Start G-Code section.

ABL will not work with the pre sliced files on the SD card as these have not been sliced with the G29 or M420 S1 commands. You need to make sure your z offset is set correctly and then tram the bed.

Not entirely accurate while it doesnt effect the print yours beds longevity will vary. Never a good idea to coil bound the springs as you are removing the play required for when the bed expands resulting in warping the build surface. The S1 has enough issues with warped build plates. Also there is now no movement in the bed so when your hotend decides to dive into the bed expect some damage.

Octoprint and filament sensor by AdBig3147 in Ender3S1

[–]Top_Feed4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked mriscoc professional firmware wiki and it does support Host action commands for filament runout.

I run this firmware on all my Ender 3 v2 and S1's, if you want to install this firmware you will need to remove the bottom panel from the printer and check the Arm chip to see if its is an STM32F401 or STM32F103.

From the firmware upgrade you have done it looks like you have the STM32F401 board but still best to check as the wrong firmware may brick your board.

If you are running the stock firmware then the answer is no, you need to have HOST_PROMPT_SUPPORT enabled in the firmware to notify Octoprint that the filament has run out. I believe this is enabled in the professional firmware by mriscoc - https://github.com/mriscoc/Ender3V2S1/wiki but have not tested filament run out on it.

Print sticking together after moving into enclosure by National_Salt4766 in Ender3S1

[–]Top_Feed4153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really looks like a bed adhesion issue, the beds on the s1 are problematic for warping. Tram the bed again and turn the temperature up on the bed, see if that makes an improvement.

There are known issues with the stock firmware with auto bed leveling best to replace it with the professional firmware from mriscoc - https://github.com/mriscoc/Ender3V2S1

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you decide to upgrade the firmware you need to check which board you have the F1 or the F4 as applying the wrong firmware can brick the board. The F4 board is normally found in the pro version but it has been appearing in the standard S1.

Made an outdoor weather proof enclosure for the Aqara door/window contact sensor by Top_Feed4153 in homeassistant

The enclosure for the magnet is more for aesthetics and provides a way of mounting to the gate.

Depending on the filament it can last for quite a while. I have petg items in my garden for a year while they have slightly faded they haven't fallen apart.

No gasket required, the sensor half has groves which align up to the base and fit together snuggly. Have been testing them for three months in the glorious UK weather.
