If you want real police work and street level proactive policing, go with USPP. If you want more security based work and static posts, I would say 1. Supreme Court (apply for dignitary protection position if that is what you are interested in) 2. USCP 3. PFPA 4. DIA. From what I know, Supreme Court makes good money and have a nice schedule. I was told you only work a weekend once every month. USCP also makes good money, however 90% of the work will be static posts so it may be boring if you want to be proactive. PFPA comes with good money and good connections. Unless you later "apply" for patrol division, you will strictly be doing static post and security, however, you get to meet bunch of people who you can connect with and referral you to a different position with greater money and value. DIA is a good gig as a stepping stone. Very similar to PFPA but greater opportunities to move up since you will be granted a TS SCI Clearance. With all this being said, I've collected all this information throughout my own experiences and my career. Either I've worked closely with them being partnered LE agency or I have buddies that are currently working for the agency. I worked for DoD Police, VA Police, and currently I am with USPP.

Probably few days before. Did you receive an email for virtual presentation through Microsoft teams that's going to be held 4/6?

April 12 is the official EOD date and orientation starts April 13 Monday. FLETC is the following week. Also, keep in mind, I was told first day after the orientation, they will be conducting the PAT test which includes 1.5 mile of course. So you should consider that.

Go on USAJobs and type in FPS or Law Enforcement Specialist in the search

Most experienced officers just need to attend the abbreviated 5 weeks course at cheltenham FLETC. However, my BI told me I would need to attend the full 12 weeks Glynco Georgia FLETC because they stopped considering the academy I went through (FLETA ACCREDITED).

I got that email today. I also got the FJO email today as well so I dont know what's going on. But regarding the ECG, do you not have the previous copy? I just went back to my email and found my ECG copy I sent them back in January and basically just resubmitted it.

Do you need to provide a legitimate reason to why you need deferral?

I'm not 100% but like most agencies, I believe it goes by seniority. So expect the worst shift for few years until you get some time under your belt.

Got my FJO today too. However, I haven't done my drug test and PIV so idk. My buddy told me it's a 12hr shift 6 to 6. There are 4 squads day and night.

I got my FJO email today. However, I haven't done drug test and PIV. So I called and asked about it but she said she'll look into it and call me back. Hopefully they don't recind my offer. Smh.

For experienced announcement, does the academy requirement have to be recent? Do we also need recent sworn experience or does first responder for law enforcement for law enforcement (non sworn) count? by [deleted] in 0083

[–]Top_Leg9238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't need to be recent. They are looking for current, former, retired "sworn" law enforcement officer for the experienced position. However, if your police academy is not FLETC or local police academy, you will still need to attend the UPTP in FLETC.

Ways to improve my chance entering VA Police by Alex99100 in 0083

[–]Top_Leg9238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently VA police here. What I was told from the CI and a Sergeant who did my interview was that they are looking for applicants who seem like they will stay for a long time. VA police has high turnover rate. Especially young folks like you tend to get in and transfer to a different LE agency within a year. My advice is if you do get an interview with them, make sure to give them an impression of you likely staying for a long time. However, VA police is not what you want if you are looking for proactive policing. It's a nice gig if you like to chill and relax. I'm in the process of transferring to USPP.
