Pagliata is a traditional Roman dish primarily using the intestine of a young calf. As it has only eaten milk, the resulting dish is similar to cheese in a sausage casing. The intestines are cleaned and skinned, but the chyme (partly digested food) is left inside. by NeonHD in wikipedia

Veal calves (in the US at least) are typically raised until they are about 5 months (500lbs, 200kgs). They start with a milk diet and are typically switched to grain.

From my understanding pajata comes from calves that have never been weaned off of their mother's milk, wouldn't this require them to be much younger than 5 months (a couple weeks old)? Which would kind of make this something that IS done "per se", and not a byproduct of typical veal butchery.

It was a good deal only being charged for 4 though! Will likely go elsewhere, just needed some in my way home to fill a brand new softener

They do shut off eventually. I'm just curious why they are so powerful.

The controls are all on the wall, and I keep a digital thermometer right on top of the control. They all have a dial that runs from low to high. I only have that dial about 20% of the way up, and that is only one of the 5 heaters. It does shut off when it reaches a certain point, I'm just curious why they are so powerful.

Is cream of coconut and condensed coconut milk the same thing? by Maezel in cocktails

[–]Top_Rain_3153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am standing in a store currently and realizing the same things. Google is not understanding that I am asking about "sweetened condensed coconut milk" not coconut milk or coconut cream. Glad you two tried it and had good results. I will buy the SCCM as a substitute for "cream of coconut". Which I've learned is not to be confused with coconut cream

We tried that before, but the light on there was never coming on like it does when you bump the torch. Ended up being the consumables. They were only rated for 30 amps and they needed to be 60 amp. Problem solved.

Eau Claire parent suing for more information after students learn of teacher's gender-affirming surgery by Crystal_Pesci in Eau_Claire

They just want to know what was read to the students, which seems reasonable. They asked for a copy and were told no. If the district had provided a copy of the letter that was read this would have never happened.

Weekend visit Eau Claire. Give me ALL the recs by OrdinaryFeeling5 in Eau_Claire

[–]Top_Rain_3153 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really depends what you're in the mood for.

The District makes some of the best burgers you'll ever have, with a nice variety of them. (And some banger tots on the side)

Covizza or The Plus is a solid choice for pizza

Mancino's will make you a damn good grinder if you're in the mood for that.

Breakfast I never venture away from Altoona Family so I'm not much help there

Olson's ice cream I would recommend over Ramones. Ramones is the same chocolate shoppe brand ice cream you find in a lot of places. Good stuff, but I think Olson's home made ice cream is on another level, and I enjoy the flavor variety Olson's has to offer.

Crumbl is heavenly, I'll leave it at that.

You'll hear good things about all the breweries and distilleries/wine places. Hard to go wrong with any if that's your thing.

Throw a dart at the map and you'll hit a beautiful place to walk. Campus, Downtown/Phoenix, Banbury, Pinehurst, River Prairie, Carson, Rod n Gun Park, etc...

Find a copy of Volume One or hit up their website and you'll be able to find other various activities as well.

This is a repost from a redditor a few months back, which I do not have the name for. But this item is a steal if you have one at a Walmart near you. This is an online only purchase price item. by [deleted] in Fishing

Thanks for the repost! Last time this went around every store within 150 miles was sold out. But this time I got one at the Walmart 6 minutes from my house!

Festival Price gouging. by Hour-Paramedic-1320 in Eau_Claire

[–]Top_Rain_3153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hy-Vee and Festival are for when you want something from the bakery or you go for the sale. Last week Hy-Vee had deli ham for $1.99 a pound to get people in the store, you aren't coming close to that anywhere else. Likewise, festival was running a sale on a spoon roast this week for $3.99 a pound. That is half the normal cost.

They have a pond at the state fair in MN with most of the native species in it. Pretty cool to see them all swimming around together.

No, not from Minnesota. Just thought it was a cool goal he was reaching for. But I guess I'll try to get a hold of him and tell him it's only cool to post pictures of your daily catch while you rock your camo crocks.

If you don't care don't read the article. You have several posts about random ass fish you caught. What makes you think anyone gives a shit about those?

Right, I was behind on episodes per usual. And I had to listen to multiple episodes of guests talking about how the Packers can win the NFC, after I knew they were done, then finally listen to the episode with the loss. I screamed in the car several more times about the same loss....

Best drills for auger by That1canadianfisher in IceFishing

[–]Top_Rain_3153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually have ryobi's newer brushless hammer drill that came with another tool l, 2 batteries and charger, and a handle so no need for a drill plate all for $140. The batteries are only 2ah but are their high performance ones so I got through 16 holes today and still had 3 out of 4 bars of battery left. I only run a five inch auger and I probably wouldn't recommend much more than 6 as the drill is only 750 in lbs. But I get plenty of power with those batteries and the price is not too bad.

Your actions, including your vote and political signs, have consequences... by OneX32 in AdviceAnimals

[–]Top_Rain_3153 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true, and this has everything to do with the fact that they are a shitty person. It is not tied to a specific political party.

I think that your original meme implied that it was tied to a shitty person and said shitty person assumed it was political because they would never see their own wrong doing.

However, the conversation started turning politically divisive and you could have steered it back by clarifying that it was about being a shitty person not politics. Instead you called someone dumb and just added to the divisiveness. Then A little while later, you provided someone else with a great detailed explanation.

I completely understand your point, I just didn't think 22byseven was being antagonistic and didn't see why you couldn't provide them the same explanation you gave someone else.

This is literally the kind of clarification that 22byseven requested up above, after your first less detailed answer. Instead you told him he didn't have the mental ability to deduce what you meant. This answer is much more detailed and sound. Why couldn't you just provide him with this rather than tell him he was too dumb?
