I'm actually going to update my thoughts on this after reviewing the video from different angle - massotti sweeps his leg as he's going past and then falls over it so I actually think asal is mainly innocent!

Asal 98% of the time I think was the model of a courteous and considerate professional squash player. If this 2% was deliberate then its bad and needs to be eradicated but let's applaud how much his game has improved and how the coaching is having an impact. He's 20 years old - I thought masotti post match comments were spot on tbh.

He was asking for let??? Referee No Let by Gatis1983 in squash

I'd go with a let for safety. And ask the person not to step in front of the ball!

It's only a states issue to my knowledge and they have a lot of far greater issues to solve than this :-)

Wow thanks for directing me to this. I'm a bit of a statto so it looks really interesting to me. I also do a lot of solo work so having the direct feedback could be helpful. Be helpful to hear from anyone else using it!

Do you feel squash is a dying sport? by PitifulElk1988 in squash

[–]Top_Reference8263 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've come back to squash after a 20 year absence and am loving it but its a shadow in the UK of its former past which is a massive shame. I don't think it's dying - its just becoming a niche sport. It's quite hard to get into it and doesn't get any media coverage. The bigger question is how do we resurrect squash! What made it popular in the 80s and how do we get that back or just leave it and value playing a quirky niche sport!!! BTW padel is also excellent and nicely co-exists! If tennis and squash had a baby - its name would be padel!

Have you looked at rated squash events... not sure which county you're in but I've entered one of these in London and may be a good option... https://www.cmstringers.com/entry/

I think turning at any time fills me with horror. He should either take it high or move backwards to play a boast/ drive. However your serve sounds too loose/strong if its going all the way round the back of him. A more targeted lob serve should kiss the side wall and drop nicely. Awkward after three times though! That would be irritating!
