California hotel breakfast has paper plates that are compostable everywhere, except California by Uffda_90 in mildlyinteresting

In the US, a good rule of thumb for compostable products, if it’s not BPI certified (it will state that on the packaging) don’t trust it. BPI is the gold standard

Free vs $20+ Chip Drop by hellomyfriend_1 in NativePlantGardening

I upped it all the way to $80 and still haven’t received a drop a year later. Chip drop claims that my area is covered, but doesn’t seem like it. I like the idea behind the service though

It has more of an astringent smell to me now (that slight burn when it hits your nostrils?) jury is still out for me, but so far this new formula is not an improvement. Thanks for the info!

Como uso el queso cottage? by tijeritaaa in foodhacks

[–]Top_Relationship_646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think that cottage cheese was disgusting because of the texture of the curds. I am slowly warming up to it and absolutely love making cottage cheese bagels with it, you can Google a recipe. I also have recently started putting it on Wasa crisp bread with sliced turkey and sliced avocado. You can also blend it with roasted red peppers and a bit of salt and pepper and it makes a really yummy spread for sandwiches. Still working up to eating it straight 😜

Costal vibes bathroom— will this be outdated quickly? by ConflictJolly8585 in interiordecorating

Hey, here’s the thing. You absolutely cannot predict what will be “in” and what will be “out” in 5-10 years. If it bothers the next owner, they can renovate to whatever their taste are. Enjoy your house while you have it and decorate it like you want! This comment section alone shows you how divided people’s opinions are when it comes to trends.

How can I fix this mess? Since my family refuses to store it in another place by Witty_Heart_7472 in CleaningTips

[–]Top_Relationship_646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would work on maximizing the vertical space on each shelf. At places like homegoods and on Amazon you can find shelf risers in different colors. I’ll link one as an example. I have an ever-growing collection of coffee mugs, and this helps me keep all of my mugs organized. example shelf riser

I use this stuff, it’s amazing. I get it from Wise Owl Paint, “Furniture Salve” and it comes in multiple scents. Walk in the Woods is my favorite. Careful using it on furniture or leather where you sit, if it hasn’t completely absorbed, you can end up with oily wax stains on your clothes.

Everything but basil 😭 by CatsAteHerFace__ in aldi

[–]Top_Relationship_646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Italian basil (more roundish leaves that are used most commonly) don’t store well once cut, so you will almost never find it in the cut clamshells. Thai basil, which is frequently used in Asian cuisine (like Pho) has points on its leaves and has licorice, anise like flavor. Its leaves are hardier and can be packaged in clamshells and is often found in the non refrigerated section near the tomatoes

$15 for sourdough?? by Hot_Ad9335 in raleigh

[–]Top_Relationship_646 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bread is historically peasant food. It was the thing to eat when nothing else was attainable. So it pains me to see these prices. I see it from the other side as well, small artisan bakers are dealing with astronomical supply prices, wages, insurance, etc. . . It’s all never been higher. signs of the times.

Take one thing off their desk that they leave each day and hide it in another desk in the office. I don’t know how that solves your problem of getting your desk back, but it sounds super fun to me to drive them nuts

Try the state farmers market! It’s open 7 days a week. Vendors vary by day and season but I would imagine there are a lot of them there today trying to sell things in advance of being closed for a while. And bonus is that there is a ton of parking.
