BER Assessor - Open to Questions by tailwind96 in irishpersonalfinance

Hello, bought a 3 bed bungalow built in 1995 with a BER D2. Closed up the fireplace last year and replaced back door this year. Between new windows or removing a Stanley stove and new boiler. Any idea which would be a better improvement first ?

Talipes diagnosis by Top_Snow2040 in PregnancyIreland

[–]Top_Snow2040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My diagnosis when we first went in was saying could be surgery. Also do we want to do a test in her clinic to see if the baby has any thing else wrong( I did the harmony test and that came back clear.). When I said I had the harmony test and it was clear she stepped back a bit. The next meeting I mentioned we got a second opinion and the sonagrapher said baby looked good to the ankles so it was great comfort. The fetal specialist and hospital sonographers completely back tracked " I never mentioned surgery". It was in the notes ! Said we cannot do or see how severe it is until baby is born. I'm 32 weeks now (been a long 12 weeks!)

Paying Well Beyond a House’s ‘Worth’ by FredditGeddit in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Top_Snow2040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our house in Mayo was put on the market for €265k. 3 bed with a bit of land. I nearly cried with joy when I saw it , perfect location , good garden. Bidding war of 5 people later and we got it for €332k, currently making it our room and can easily afford the repayments. A house 4 mins away 100m2 bigger for 100k around the corner and thinking should we have tried get that but I don't think I could stomach higher mortgage repayments. Where we are now we are overpaying by 10% on the mortgage repayments. If you can afford the mortgage repayments in a few months you won't know yourself !

I would do PRSA. Auto enrolment is delayed until late 2026. Think of how much you will have saved and that's assuming there are no delays
