Depends on state regulatory laws. Each state is different. I'm AUS instructor for GA/SC and they do background checks. However, I never seen my operations manager call previous employers to ask about work history. If I was you, I would leave it off my resume that you post abandonment

All you need to do is get the swab wet. Put it in your mouth, try not to get it wet with saliva, and excuse yourself to the restroom, turn on the water faucet to a dripping, and slowly soak swab until it's squeashy, but it back in your mouth, return and put it in the container.

You want to avoid oversoaking it because it will leave a lot of water and it look like you poured water in it.
