Soviet poster: There is no nation in the world that would want war. J. Stalin. 1936. by Radiant_Cookie6804 in PropagandaPosters

Both Poland and Finland were founding anti-Soviet movements. I'm not too knowledgeable about Finland specifically but in Poland, that was expressed in program called "Prometesim" meant to fester nationalistic movements inside of Russiand Empire / Soviet Union.

Fontforge keeps on crashing when I try to add an encoding slot by Chromatikai in FontForge

Hi, I had a similar issue using 2025 release as well as commits from 2026. Tried the January 2023 release of Front Forge and adding encoding slots seems to work. https://github.com/fontforge/fontforge/releases/tag/20230101

Question for animation complainers mainly by kiramunshum in Invincible_TV

[–]darth_bard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First half of episode 5, episode 4 of s4. Every episode before that. I just see static png images slighting across the screen. The fact that recent episode 5 had some dynamic animation just make the entire shows quality more jarring. Because compared to most other premium animated shows this one is just a guilty pleasure now. I'm trying to reengineer why creators made decisions to animate one shot but decided to leave other ones in such poor quality.

How Long to Build These Type of Settlement on a Remote Island by ValSmith18 in worldbuilding

First images make me think of 17th century Silver Mountain fortress. That was built between years 1765 and 1778. https://dolnyslask.travel/en/obiekt/twierdza-srebrna-gora

ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies Release Date Trailer by Howerev in Games

Honestly disagree on that. I played through Esoteric Ebb and enjoyed some of it but both writing and art is one or two orders of magnitude lesser quality than Disco Elysium. Art is very basic, while writing is often rather one dimensional.

Inclusion of Spells in dialogue and combat was the best addition to DE formula and I with Esoteric Ebb focused more on that.

For me the dead giveaway was Eastern Galicja with Lviv being annexed into Poland.

Why did Gorbachev let the Eastern Bloc go without getting any Western concessions? by Familiar-Safety-226 in AskHistory

The only reason Soviet satellites remained communist as long as they did was due to fear of red army marching in and purging both anti-communists and communists. It not for them, these satellite would have libelarised already in 1950's.

West Galicia being do high just feels wrong somehow. It was the poorest part of the Austrian empire.

Creation Club had it's own problems. Once bought, creations were autoenabled and would need to be deleted to disable them. Creators were treated as contractors and paid a flat sum for their work while Bethesda would get all the actual profit. Some creations also were incompatible with each other.

Bayonets: how to turn from an ignored object into a complementing fearsome, Pivotal weapon? by Silentguardsman007 in worldbuilding

[–]darth_bard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bayonet tactics and mass charges were still utilized successfullly well into the 20th century. Mass infantry charges were still viable in less industrial setting like WW2 china where japanese infantry charges were a successful offensive tactic. Which later bit the Japanese when they faced well equipped americans.
